Yeah I’m going to go from playing Orisa/Hog/D.va/Zarya as much as possible to OTPing Hanzo and occasionally going Pharah/76 when it’s better just because that’s the best way to ensure the most consistent and highest winrate since DPS spots will have the biggest impact on variance while climbing. This will probably mean uninstalling the game after some time since my all around strong flexing through the roles isn’t possible anymore
Anything that stops me getting widow/ashe/hanzo/genji/moira and my lonely tank almost every single game gets my vote

There’s one way I can see role queue working, and that’s as an augmentation to the LFG system.
Let people who want to role queue do so. They select the role they want, and start waiting. The first thing the game does is scan the LFG lobby. If it sees a group that’s looking for their class, meets their comp and game mode criteria, and is within their skill range, it drops them in. (Maybe you’d need to give some people the option to close LFG groups to this system so they can still do groups that are language specific or something). If the game doesn’t see a group to drop the player into, it makes a new one. Then, the group is filled up both by other role queuing players and players looking in LFG.
What this group wouldn’t do is force every comp to play 2-2-2. I really don’t think that’s healthy for the game. If players want to play a certain comp, then yeah, it should be easy for them to find each other and play together. But nobody should be forced to play a certain way just because others prefer to play against a certain comp. I love playing Winston, should I ask that every enemy team be forced to pick a sniper?
Unfortunately, the players who think the know what is best for all of us appear to want everyone to play 2-2-2, not just their own team
It is ignorant to keep using those 2 words in the same sentence “kill”, “game”. No, it will not. Brig did not “kill the game”, Doomfist did not “kill the game” nor will 2-2-2 “kill the game”. Just because you dislike something doesn’t mean it will “kill the game”.
Jeez. Ever heard of trial and error? Implement 2-2-2, test it, discuss after.
Because previous changes did not remove an essential component of game play for me.
Now I know you have nothing. If you honestly believe a chess game would be FUN if you could only move one tile at a time and had to get checkmate on ALL of your pieces lol.

Wouldn’t be the first time people complain about something that doesn’t exist.
Either way the change is being brought about because of GOATS and as you pointed out GOATS isn’t even being used anymore which makes the whole decision dumb.

Even if it makes the game better, that’s where my money is, people will still come here to cry about how they feel “oppressed” to have rules in a game.

While there are too much throwers already, i dont think that Blizz ever reverts anything.
I suggest it in like every month in the forums. Not just every other Blizzard game but like every competitive team based game has Unranked mode. Why not OW?

the argument against unranked was always “how do you wanna stop it becoming quickplay no care to win” … but at that time no one thought about role-q … an unranked mode would need to have 2-2-2, same punishments for leavers, competitive points… also they could give us map votes

If they just give CP and same ruleset for Unranked mode, that would worth it. Less tryhards in QP and less CP farmers in Ranked.

ITT: Several players (presumably) in Gold and below advocating mid round role switching.
Reality: Literally no one sucessful at this game switches roles mid round.
hey did you know there was a meta that removed all of the said dps out of most games?
yet most ppl who want 222 also hates goats. ironic how dps are the problem either way.
