I don’t know if this has already been suggested, apologies if so (also where can I find details). I like the idea of role queue but I really miss playing DPS - the small amount of time I do have to play OW I want to actually PLAY OW not sit in skirmish.
So, my suggestion is to implement some kind of credit or tracking system where if you play X games as support or tank you get to skip the DPS queue for one game. Maybe it’s 3 or 4 games playing the least popular role, maybe it’s some kind of ‘DPS credit’ system that expires after 24 hours or decays over time.
I like playing all the roles and would really enjoy playing DPS again if I ‘do my time’ in the support and tank queues.
I don’t oppose such system, but it really speaks to the state of tanks and even supports to a lesser extent, when a system that basic turns DPS into a reward for playing something else is a thing.
Improve tanks and queue times will improve, that’s just basic, it does feel like devs want tanks to be as hellish as possible, and I’m sure that is not the case for that would be non-sensical business model, but for the casual player looking from his TV/monitor screen, it must feel and play like tanks are the mistake devs wish to punish for existing.
Regardless though, a reward system should reward a victory not played games, otherwise problems arise.
Yeah I’m sure the details could be worked out. I don’t know what they could change for sup/tanks to make them more attractive without doing something OP that is abused in pro games.
I think LoL does it too, it’s not a revolutionary idea. I think it would solve some of the queue angst for players that don’t just play DPS.
