Role queue ranks

Quick question, so the other day i reached plat on support. My plan is to end the season that way and move on to the next role to hit plat on that (which is DPS) these are the only 2 roles i care about, recently tanking has been hell. Will this affect my other roles if i end the season on low gold in tank?

Every role has its own mmr now, so its up to how well or how badly you’ll do on those individual roles while doing placements. Having said this I noticed players usually won’t move much from their current rank unless they do particularly well or particularly badly on another role, the ranks across roles don’t tend to differ much.

Basically if you end up in gold on tank, but plat on support, next season when you do placements they start your support at plat and tank at gold, and check if you’re still there. Placements don’t usually make much of a difference.

They have a general mmr and skill rank from the previous season when we had no role queue, and will check if your dps matches that or not when you do your placements.
Perhaps they even started gathering data on dps mmr when they implemented role queue and placements will only confirm you should be at that role, who knows.

I only say this because my support and tank roles rolling over pre-role queue were relatively high. While DPS was lower and i played and won more matches on DPS. My fear is that i hit plat on both roles and get reset to gold cuz my overall ranking across the board isnt plat and instead low plat, low gold. Compared to last season where i was mid gold and got placed high gold on everything but DPS. I can play to mid gold on tank but im not even gonna attempt to push it to plat because its cancer rn. If it stays gold while everything goes up im fine with that
