Role Queue is killing OW

at least before, if a certain role wasn’t pulling their weight, you could adjust the comp to make up for it. Now you have DPS that sit in queues for 10 minutes to just come in and suck and throw. This has gotten ridiculous.

Except in the past it was the main tank or the support who swapped to dps, still sucked, and still the game was a loss. Soo, I don’t see how it is any different now.

because at least then you could play around these people and try and make up for it. If the main tank switched off, they probably werent a good tank anyway, so I could at least switch to tank to make up for it. Locking into specific roles, even before knowing the map is ridiculous. Some people play different roles on certain maps a lot better is the other issue.

There is so much confirmation bias in your examples. It is likely that you, me, and the people you’re complaining about are equally bad at all of our roles. Otherwise we wouldn’t be playing with each other. We would be playing in GM or too 500.

No, now you just have to actually know how to play the role you queue for. You can’t start a match, decide to play MT, get a somewhat vaguely-balanced team comp, lose two fights and swap to 3rd DPS because “DPS aren’t doing their jobs”.

I don’t even think it’s so much the not swapping roles mid game… for me it’s more of I have less than a two minute queue for tank and over a 15 minute queue for support and dps. I don’t enjoy tanking EVERY game. I also don’t really feel like waiting in a 15+ minute queue. Therefore instead of joining a game and filling / working with the people i’m playing with to make a comp. I just don’t play if I don’t feel like tanking.

There are separate SR for roles for a reason.

Agree, before 2-2-2 bad dps, or both dps playing the same role, was not a problem because someone else would do their job for them. So in most cases they weren’t even noticeable.
And even if your team/team setup would suck, the chance the enemy had the same problem was very big.

With DPS being played by mostly people who play the game as CS:GO. A shooter were you dont have to play with your team or with any forms of tactics/team work. They are also mostly play both main dps , without 1 of the 2 switching to flex dps. Not even when it is very clear the team needs a flex dps, to guard them.
If any other role would play both off tank or off healer, you get lots of complains.
But most will swap. Trying to get one main dps to swap is not done, if you do they will ignore you or worse. At least i have given up on them.

An easy fix that would fix queue times 100% would be : rotating random queue roles. Loose and stay on same role. Win and you can stay in role or rotate again to next role.
But that would mean the DPS, one tricks/people who dont care about team work etc… would also have to play tank and healer. And blizzard dont like the scare the casual players away. Even if this means they will destroy the game for others.

I would even not mind if blizzard change it to 6 roles, You will queue randomly on 1 of the 6 roles. With each role you could more easily look if the player are doing the job belonging by its role. So you can see if a off tank or off healer is mostly only dpsing or a flex dps is playing as a main dps. If they are not you can punish
them.

10 to 1 says the tank player is actually at fault

Dps don’t leave games their healer is doing well in because it’s fun even if they lose

And they wouldn’t queue for fifteen minutes to just not try

I dont remember any adjusting at all. Only thing i remember is main tank going dps as fourth dps because third guy playing tank lost his mind after first lost fight and went to play godlike widow with 15% accuracy.

Stories how people flexed to compensate and how they made good comps are totaly laughable.

They implemented 222 exactly because people had horrible experience without it.

No, it was ridiculous before where you had 3, 4, or 5 DPS comps.

Thank goodness that’s a thing of the past.

Role Queue is a much-needed and appreciated change.

Stopped reading after you said you don’t need teamwork or tactics in CSGO. How much CSGO have you played?

Imagine being the dps and not performing at ur best, now after first Fite ur team is flaming u, tanks tilted as f*** only press w and m1, healer don’t heal u cause u “throwing” or they need to pocket the tanks or they die, some a hole typing “gg go agane” instead of playing and u think"i waited 15 mins for this? ". It’s bad for everyone, also 10 min between matches is waaay to long, I would rather have 3 dps on my team

No, you waited 60 minutes for it. Because after 15, someone timed out… then after 15, someone leaves at the start… then after another 15, someone ragequits after you roll them first point… …then after another 15, you finally get a trash match. So much fun.

Preach brodah, as long as it 20 chars or more

So, as a Masters Main Tank specialist, who is also 3.4k/3.5k on both DPS and Support…

I have never *seen someone swapping off Tank or Support help the team’s chances of winning- unless they were on an off role in the first place. (Such as a smurf DPS picking Tank until they start to lose, which I have encountered prior to 2-2-2, and yes, smurfs exist in Masters).

As a Main Tank, if I swap off- TYPICALLY my Off Tank player does not know how to play Main Tank or how to play a solo Off Tank.

If I’m playing Support and suddenly go DPS, we have multiple problems.
We’ve gotta choose between a good defensive support ult or a good offensive support ult. We also have to horribly adjust our comp to fit said Solo-Support or we lose.

You are not magically 80x better than your teammates, unless you’re smurfing- in which case you deserve to lose.

Probably not in higher tiers where people are A) decent at the game and B) Roll with anything anyway, but you should of come and hung out at gold<->Plat. Playing mostly tank and support, I’d often switch back and forth between the two because you can easily tell if the heals are failing or the tanking is failing, with 3 DPS I just always assume the damage output is there.

And how many people in the past actually did what you are saying ? There was either a rage quit over why you picked my character or throw of the game .now you can choose the hero you are good at in the most cases .
