So… I was wondering if Blizzard is actually thinking about role queueing. I’m a plat player that is a tank main (and can also heal) but I get grouped up with lots of dps players that seem to not know their role to well. It seems like they just want to try the heroes and see what works for them well, I’ve no problem with that but I do have a problem with them not wanting to switch this often leads to the team getting tilted and becoming toxic to that 1 player (wich isn’t helping at all) and usually this results in a loss. That’s why i think role queue would be nice. Role queue should be a forced 2 support - 2 tank - 2 dps. The role queue should also have the SR ranking for the specific role, so we know that everyone on the team is well experienced with their role in that rank. There should also be an option for the team to decide if the dps can go flex or not (an option that can be compared with the surrender option in lots of games, wich is decided by the team). I really hope Blizzard has an idea for the game that can be compared with this idea. Can anyone tell me if this actually possible to get into the game, or if Blizzard was thinking about this already? There might be a few things i said you won’t agree with, but for that reason, please don’t be toxic.
This is why they made LFG. But people actually don’t like it.
People don’t like the LFG queue because you face teams that have been squaded up for away. The 6 man groups are a lot more difficult to beat, especially if they have a bigger hero pool to work with. There is literally a different SR level between solo and 6 stacking.
That said, if we had role queues, I think certain people would go down in SR more than they thought. And some would go up. The games would be vastly more difficult because people could continually play their favorite. I don’t think a lot of people realize that and how much some games would be lost if the enemy team could play well in the role they are forced to play in.
LFG still doesn’t solve the problem of balance SR/MMR across the group.
For example, you can be a 2700SR tank main… decide that you want to play DPS and you pick a DPS slot in a 2700SR rating group but play DPS at level of 1400SR…
My experience with LFG, people who do not main DPS pick DPS slots. You can kick people who do not make their profile public… but this ends up in waiting for 15+ minutes to finally get a group and queue up. Not to mention, you breed toxicity and “bad energy” in your group everytime you kick someone and be like “ehh… I don’t want a 20% win rate sombra to be our DPS… sorry guys, let’s be patience”. People just start leaving the group before it even fills…
I found success looking for duo/trio’s though! However, people are much more reluctant to join a 2/3 person group for whatever reason… so it still takes like 10 minutes just to find people to queue with…
Not worth the time and/or effort.
Soloq takes 2-3 minutes and feels a lot more balanced. The matchmaking system is far more efficient balancing hidden MMR with soloq than it is with the LFG feature.
This is probably because it was engineered after and was treated as an after-thought…
