Role Queue doesn't fix one fundamental problem

First of all, THANK YOU so much to Blizzard and staff for finally being transparent. This is why I’m coming back to Overwatch. Now that we are actually TRYING to fix competitive mode.

It seems that much of Blizzard’s thoughts are same as the players and then some. Based on recent Jeff’s interviews, the man clearly has a solid direction for the game and has deep knowledge and foresight about making changes.

One thing I’d like to suggest is that contributes to poor satisfaction w/ this game is that your win/loss depends on 5 other people’s performance. If you design the system such that SR is PURELY YOUR OWN PERFORMANCE and not 5 other players, I think we have a system. This takes out of the equation someone blaming a thrower, leaver, etc for the match.

Nothing tilts people more than to lose a match due to someone else’s bad play. I get that this is not in the spirit of the game; team play is. But neither is a solo queue system and a 2-2-2 system and torb on attack and on and on.

I feel it would mitigate the two most commonly complained about thing in the game (along w/ your 2-2-2 role que idea)

Let me know your thoughts!

Attack Torb For The Win!

welcome back

Agree that making a system that more basis your sr gains and losses on your individual skill is much more important than role queue. Not sure how they can do that but surely there is a way to make matchmaker much more accurate.

I dont like role queue because I dont see how dps players WONT have stupidly long queue times. And no “just lock tank then” isn’t the answer. I dont want to be forced into tank just to play.

I’m willing to swap to tank during a game if I see we have 2 dps with really high win percentage or see that 2 dps are performing really well but our team has trouble sustaining. But I dont want that option taken out of my hands.

Most likely you will be forced to play tank some percentage of your games. That’s my guess anyway

Role queue is NOT for Overwatch. It goes completely against what the entire game is about.

Heavier PBSR would make this game SO much more tolerable, and probably even less toxic.

The problem now is that it feels like 5 random people have control over your SR.

you w/l does not depend on 5 other peoples performance. that the misconception you are trapped in.

the 11 other people in the match are randomly choses from the Sr pool close to yours, and then divided into two hypothetically even teams.
it will never for sure be 100% perfectly balanced howeverover many games it statistically works out to 50/50

YOU are the wild card. if you are better than your rank, you WILL climb at 51+%

Is this topic in reaction to some word from Blizz about matchmaking? I can’t find any official video or statement.
