I agree, Iāve not played much of any comp since role lock was implemented, Iāve only really played during events and only then QPC.
Itās not just about which heroes youāre cut out of either, itās the combination of heroes, a lot of people complained when Rein was locked, and not just tanks who wanted to play him, but because of the effect of that on the game more broadly.
Imagine you lock Ashe, Widow and Ana, itād just turn the game into a Pharah-Mercy free for all. Iād enjoy it as Pharah, but I can imagine that would infuriate a lot of people who just wouldnāt play until things switched up again. I sure as hell wouldnāt want to Tank that.

A symptom of balance problems. Yāall keep nerfing Tanks and Supports while reworking or buffing DPS. Yāall created this problem yourself.
I donāt play support anymore. I joined the DPS Collective and play Tank to get faster queue times. Blame yāall dag gone selves.

There shouldnt even be a word called one tricking .If people want to play thier hero they shouldnt be critisized for it .They paid the $60 they should be able to play what they want to play .They put in the hrs to get good at a certain hero and then a very small percentage of the overwatch community want to be elitists and tell them they cant play thier hero .Well thats BS if you ask me .

Itās tricky. In scrims and tournaments, basically any real team setting, even at higher ranks when people start playing with you, yes, definitely, tanks are hugely impactful. In Solo queue, especially in low ranks, when your team doesnāt play around you, you really are the most helpless role. SVB, a GM Rein main recently started his Unranked to GM as Rein only, and he said itās best to always duo as a Tank main, even in higher ranks, and that these lower ranked solo queue games were the least fun heās had in Overwatch. He also lost more to basically no fault of his own, or at least had incredibly close games, games that should have been stomps with his gameplay, than other streamers doing Unranked to GM on other roles.

Heās using unofficial sources, and each time i ask him to verify itās actually correct he changes the subject.
I agree 100% dps are way too strong in this game and tanks are way too underpowered thats the sole reason why people choose dps because its way easier to rank up as dps .This is why i say DPS is way more impactful than tank and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to play tank for a good solid month and watch your SR go down the toilet cause of trash dps mains who cant use a shield .
And where are you getting that from? Or do you just magically know every playerās thoughts on one-tricking?

I mean, youāre more than welcome to; however, itās your own failure to refuse getting better at roles instead of āone heroā I.E. one tricking, is no ones problem but yourselves.
One tricking is allowed. I canāt stop you; however, when your hero is banned because you one trick, youāre just as useless as putting a bronze aim Andy in a Diamond team.
I have no sympathy for one tricks as black hearted as that may sound. One tricks arenāt new to the gaming genera. If your hero gets banned in LoL, better pray you are good at other heroes. Same goes for DOTA or literally any game that has hero bans.
Nothing new. Hence, why itās get better at your role and not one tricking.

You only inform your point, but you donāt give the information necessary for having a discussion. Then there is no use for making a thread if noone is on the same bage.
All your sources youāve used are unofficial (e.c Twitch and overbuff) which might not be precise enough.
And with twitch you cannot directly say itās all OW players.

I had to stop playing aswell. The 10 minute dps que is what killed ot for me. Also with the hero bans it seems like if someoneās hero is banned on the tank or healer side they all flock to dps.
Last night I waited 20 minutes to get a game for only for someone to leave the game when it startedā¦ I was excited about Overwatch 2 but since itl have the same crap as ow I wont buy it.
Are OCEās players hard stuck or cap at Gold 2100? If so, yāall just as bad as OCE players in WoW. Just sayinā.

Surely since he claims heās one of the best tank mains in OCE and Twitch streamers do unranked to Master challenges all the time, his alt wouldnāt be at a lowly 2100.

Hero pools and role lock didnāt ruin Overwatch. DPS players complaining about Tank and Healers to get them nerfed and the Overwatch team balancing around 10 minute matches instead of balance for balance, is the leading downfall of Overwatch.

I only play tank anytime Rein based comps are not playable. Rein is the epitome of boring. Other than that I just play DPS.
I know I havenāt played since the ban system was announced. I logged into the PTR to screw around with Echo, but thatās it.
Quality of matches is better than quantity. Iād rather play 5 decent/good games than 20 bad ones in the same time.
