It has been a crazy week, Blizzard said that Brigitte was going to be ‘meta changing’ and, well, she has done that in spades.

So, lets review the winners and losers.

Winners

Doomfist - This IS interesting, Tracer / Genji took at least as much of a pounding from the armor that Brigitte gives out, than her stun (which may mean the stun can be nerfed, and she can still be anti flank) - the one flanker who doesn’t care as much about armor has done very well out of this.

McCree - His pick rate has gone up, which is why you are seeing so many “McCree needs a buff” threads which started when Brigitte hit… Wait… that can’t be right… Oh well, the forums don’t need to make sense. He has done really well out of this, but… Hanzo V2 has just been released, so next week may be QUITE different. We will see.

Rein - Of course with all the “Rein is now useless threads”, you just know the forum knows what they are talking about, since his pick rate has… wait… gone up? Like, by a lot? Well poop! Rein is annoying to play as, but play as him people are. Brigitte has done wonders for his pick rate, and he is knocking on having a rate 4 times higher than Orisa (nearly 8* in GM)… and she is the tank which can actually become immune to stun.

Brigitte - well yeah, I mean, from 0, you can only go up as far as pick rates go, but… well, she is a whole lot of up. I’m not saying she is OP, but… she is so OP.

Loses

Tracer / Genji - They took a beating - their pick rates are STILL good… which says an awful lot about their pick rates before this.

Reaper - I mean, seriously, how bad does the dev team have to leave a hero that with all the buffs, they are STILL a joke pick? He should NEVER have gotten to that state.

So, is this the no skill Meta?

Lets look at the DPS mains.

Plat- The top picked DPS / DEFENCE are… Hanzo / Genji / McCree / Junkrat / Tracer
Diamond - Hanzo / Genji / McCree / Widow / Tracer
Master - Hanzo / Widow / Tracer / Genji / McCree
GM - Hanzo / Widow / Tracer / Junkrat / McCree

Yep… obviously the no skill meta is strong this week /s

Anything unbalanced?

Well, the DPS as a whole pick rate has dropped by a lot, and was picked up by the supports.

Or rather, you can say the supports took a bunch of picks from tracer. Since it pretty much all dropped from her.

The biggest losers are the people who keep rolling the dice in comp.

There may be some truth in that. I suspect people playing comp has dropped.

It’s a waste of time.

The only reason I’m playing this season is to get a gold weapon.

So many leavers. People just don’t care anymore.

It’s not competitive at all.

It’s rolling dice.

To be fair, on this section this does seem to rely on Rein having a Brigitte on his team as well.

I’ve only had 2 leavers and one came back so… yay me?

This meta is refreshing and I’m hyped to see what happens next. Though I admit I still feel bored playing Overwatch.

…PvE was just more fun y’know? I like story events.

Totally agree. It is a safe bet while Brigitte is as strong as she is. Though, once she is nerfed so her pick rate drops, Rein will be less annoying to play :slight_smile:

So it is good for Rein’s either way, but I expect many would trade power for less annoyance.

I’m hoping they keep hanzo as is, but with those numbers and the tanky meta favouring him, it’s probably not happening

Yeah. I know, it is SOOOO good to see him get play time.

I think he is going to get a nerf in the next month, but I’ll be sad to see it.
