Add more healing to take a breather to compensate for the increased health pool. Where it stands right now he burns through vape way too fast because of the dps passive. Or you could buff hook damage to 30. It’s silly how it only does 5. Or you could just get rid of the dps passive. It’s counter intuitive to have such a thing exist when you guys know there’s hero’s who rely on self healing to stay alive.

They are nerfing most of the powerful tanks. That is more or less a Hog buff when you think about it. I wouldn’t worry.

In fairness, Roadhog, Junker Queen and Mauga are the only tanks that rely almost solely on their health and healing as their form of tanking.
When they get hit by anti-healing, their tanking just drops. If a Rein or a D.Va gets hit by anti-healing, they still have other mechanics that allow them to tank that are unaffected.
Would a cleanse and anti-healing immunity for a short duration on Roadhog’s rebreather and Mauga’s overdrive be fair? Maybe just a cleanse for Junker Queen as she has a bit more mobility and general kill potential when running down targets.
On mauga, yes
On hogs old TaB, yes
On hogs new TaB, no
Hogs new TaB being toggle-able would be broken if he could constantly cleanse himself.
With mauga and old TaB because it is/was a fixed cd you could have applied a cleanse on cast to both and given them options to counter effects like nade. But with hogs new TaB being something you can turn on or off at will that would simply make him always able to cleanse himself out of any situation with no risk.
Thats what happens when you opt to remove a heroes weakness outright rather than look at individual interactions

Stop power creeping heroes and NERF OTHERS, thats why we’re stuck with this new passive and health changes because instead of nerfing people they just “buffed” everyone.
Completely forgot about the toggle on Roadhog; yes, that would be be broken. My bad there.
It does have a resource cap though, so maybe it could have a duration based on how long he huffs but also a “lock-out” internal cooldown that mirrors that duration.
So if he takes a long draught, he’ll have a decent immunity window but also a lengthy window where he is vulnerable without being able to cleanse?
That or just give him an internal cooldown between “super vaping” or something?
Another, probably silly, solution would be to allow TaB to give him a small conversion of overhealth based on how much healing was negated. This wouldn’t be long lasting but stops him from being completely shut down by anti.
It wouldn’t replace all his health and would only be temporary, potentially putting him at risk when it drops off.
Or just nerf TaB back to pre rework where it actually offered counterplay and add then add the cleanse and immunity on cast so it offers hog a level of counterplay back
The TaB rework was a complete hamfisted approach to balancing the character and it just made hog more annoying to play against
All of a sudden heroes that werent ana that were good vs hog; orisa, sigma, brig etc. were made useless vs him. It literally further limited who was playable into him and now its really just only ana who is the only true answer to hog
Sigma especially used to be one of the best heroes vs hog, now hog completely counters him. Sig rock no longer counters TaB or whole hog because he just stands back up and continues casting both. You cannot grasp his whole hog anymore because he just hooks you out of it because they allowed him to use his abilities during his ult.
meanwhile hog can hook sig out of his ult and completely cancel it. Hog can hook sig out of his grasp. Hog can blow up his barrier. Because sig is allowed to be countered by hog whereas hog is not allowed the same counterplay
The fact that you want hogs only form of tanking to be canceled by other hero’s is alarming. Hog has zero armor or shields like sigma does.

Sigma doesnt have an ability that allows him to heal 500hp
Having counterplay to his abilities is healthy for the game. Making it so you cant stun him out of TaB just dumbed down the hero to where nothing can stop him doing it
Hog doesn’t have an ability that stops all forms of damage besides beams and gives him overhealth🤡 plus a 700hp shield.

Removing the counterplay of stunning hog out of TaB single handedly dumbed down the hero and limited which heroes were viable into him. Just a fact
Rock stops hog from using take a breather momentarily. You’re also forgetting that sigma has another tanking ability besides grasp which is his shield. Hog has nothing but take a breather. Stop sigma from grasping? He still has his shield. Stop hog from taking a breather? He can’t do his job as tank and implodes.
