Roadhog hook hitbox

I’ve seen some pretty gnarly hooks after coming back to OW2.
Hook curving to hit people, hooks missing by 2 meters and still hooking, hooks that are obviously out of range and hooking to the point where both players are saying “How?”

Now, Im aware some of these are visual bugs, but I think a fix could be tightening the hitbox on the hook.
And a good place for it would be the top of the hook and half way down.

I cannot see it being a visual bug with it is totally extended ending its animation infront of your character but yet still yanks you. That needs nerfed or repaired immediately. It is as bad as watching the videos of Hanzo or Widow shots doing a 360 to hit the target in replays.

Google “Roadhog 1.0 hook.”

They invested some dev time to get hook working as it is now. And I think its pretty much as good as you can get it.

Getting hooked when slamming OVER hog has got to be one of the worst things ever bc yk he wasnt looking for that hook

It’s because it’s a projectile, and if it “hits” you, the hook snaps to your center of mass.

2m is further than I’ve ever seen it snap though, and if you’re seeing that, there’s probably lag involved. The projectile is 0.5m, which is still more than big enough to see a hook that doesn’t touch your body collide with your hitbox.

The snapping thing makes the hook a lot more noticeable when it interacts with Overwatch’s sizable hitboxes, but it’s actually in line with a bunch of other projectiles in the game, like Orisa’s Javelin or Mercy’s blaster.

Hook doesn’t get any better than this, I don’t think they can mess too much with it. Either way would break it further into always or never hooking likely. It came a long way from what it used to be doe, it’s fairly balanced as it imo.

Now I just wished some issues with hook/unhook in plain sight wouldn’t occur doe, especially when audio and everything checks.

I had a match today where on the killcam I saw Hog throw his hook out, it hit the ground 3 feet infront of me, slid forward and hooked me through a corner.
