Roadhog has NEVER "one-shot" a player EVER!

No. If we are being pedantic a hook is a hit and falling out of the blast zone is another hit. Two hits… Combo. Get rolled.

We do deserve free kills because they are given to us. Why would we refuse a gift? That is rude.

It is a one shot if you die in around a second.

I love that Hog mains are stupid enough to think people actually give the most minsicule of Fs about their pathetic semantics. It’s an instant kill that takes 0 effort to pull off from a character that has 1000+ effective health and is almost impossible to punish even if they play t e r r i b l y.

If you’re hooked, you’re basically dead. No technicality will change the course of the incoming rework for the current meta hero.

Assuming they do it correctly. There is a very real possibility that we can still hook combo after the rework tbh. You should not trust Blizzard. Their track record is BAAAAAAD.

The entire existence of hook atm assumes the player will do the combo. It’s balanced like a oneshot, it is a oneshot.

I do think this is an issue, by the way. I don’t think a tank should have a kill confirm unless its risky, there’s a way to stop it before it happens, or the tank has to go all in to use it (multiple cooldowns used for example).

What if Hog hook works as normal, but if he takes a certain number of damage before he pulls targets in (like 200 HP) damage, it ruins his combo? We can tweak the number if its too low or too high, and maybe even slow his pull speed to facilitate this more.

Make the chain have health, and shooting the chain for about 50HP breaks it.

I have a feeling if his hook actually one shot that I would drown in their tears. I do not want to drown, badonkadussy.

I think the chain might be a bit hard to hit unless you make the hitbox really big, but in that case, it’d be really easy to do 50 hp damage to it. I think Hog’s the better solution because its very easy to shoot him.

But yeah, this is so entirely based on a technicality. If Hog lands a hook, like 85% of the cast is dead without any recourse whatsoever. Thus it’s a “one shot” insofar as it takes him landing literally only 1 thing to kill you. It’s a two-shot, technically, but it’s a combo so you have no agency. This isn’t hard to get.

I explained that it also depends on the circumstances of reading “one shot”. Besides that, I’m not always on my A game when I read on this forum. I work pretty much all day and look at this forum when I’m waiting for things to load.

Sometimes, my brains just fried, and I was never the sharpest knife in the drawer to begin with. Regardless, reading Hog’s one shot is just confusing to me sometimes, and I think that’s okay.

A combo that locks the target out of making any actions during it is for all intents and purposes a one-shot. It’s getting removed no matter what argument you make, and it’s going to be a good thing.
