Roadhog change is based and Hog is still viable

See title.

Blizzard actually listened and did something about Roadhog. Some will say it took too long, but at least it’s finally here.

It wasn’t healthy for the game, to have everyone playing around Roadhog all the time.

Thanks for bringing some variety back into the game in a healthy way. Roadhog is still good.

He can hook supports out of the back line, so the DPS job is easier. Less dives into the enemy team needed.

He can provide amazing peel for the supports on his team.

He’s still tanky as hell.

He’s still one of the best heroes for environmental kills.

The hook is still very useful, it just requires Roadhog to hook people into his team (ie, play with good positioning).

Hog players just need to embrace the positioning skills that they asked everyone else to ‘git gud’ at. The chain hook is still an instant death if the Roadhog actually works with their DPS and positions well. For those who played League of Legends, he’s Blitzcrank now. For those who played Dota, he’s Pudge.

PM me when you start to complain about Orisa or Ram or whoever the next hated tank is. I have some funny things to tell you then.

Blizz could literally double Orisa and Rammattra damage and it still wouldn’t be as lame as the hog combo.

If they did that, your opinion would change faster than The Flash trying to make it to the bathroom.

No need for the projection.

spear+primary fire would be far worse than hook in that case, damage boosted spear into wall might even oneshot(?) I’m not too sure on the values but it would be worse.

Other potentially unhealthy heros is not an excuse to leave others running around.

Sipping on the them hog tears

It’s like Unsalted Salt said on Twitter (who reached top spot with Hog):

“to summarise hog rn, he does a lot less but he is more consistent, old hog can do more but less consistently…i like the rightclick not having a drop off bc its skill shot if they nerf that he is dead in the waters but yeah thats my overall opinion”.

Obviously opinions will vary from tier to tier etc, but who am I to argue with him, he got the top spot with Roadhog shrug

True, but my argument is that Orisa is more unhealthy since she’s incredibly tanky, has great displacement, and her spear spin can delete bullets. If she was just tanky, or just had great displacement, I’d consider her perfectly fine.

Really, why does she need a DM, tankiness, and displacement? Hog just has displacement and damage, he’s not that tanky outside of TAB, and you could just nerf the cooldown on that to reduce his tankiness further.

I’d rather a tank be harder to kill but with lower Damage output than fighting a tank that’s hard to kill and can delete me if I’m not also tank. But people have their own preferences.

Hopefully Orisa gets more than a love tap next time.

I agree, but I think some tanks should be edge cases. Like a tank that’s sorta tanky and does great damage, or doesn’t do great damage, but tanks well enough and has great displacement.

Make no mistake, I could 100% live with an Orisa that’s shuffling me all around the map, but when I get my opportunity to damage her, she shouldn’t ALSO get to turn gold and reduce my damage. Where’s the weakness in that?

Supposedly movement. Orisa isn’t the only tank that is usually best left alone till you quash her supports. Some people don’t like having to do that/manage CD timing to burst targets down and that’s fair. Personally I don’t mind.

But she should get nerfed anyway given how much she dominates currently. Probably reduce the time she gets in fortify/make it so she has to have fortify available for it to pop in her ultimate. Slightly make her other 2 abilites have longer CD’s or at least javalin spin longer. Spear should probably get a damage nerf.

My money is on Wrecking Ball.

I’m tempted to put my cash on Ram-just because of those drawn out 1v1’s in the mirror matchups
