I can’t play OW without it freezing and crashing. I put so much mileage on it. Time to go shopping tomorrow for new parts.
Think it was the video card. The Nvidia 1660 GTX finally gave up

Best Buy clerk: [slaps PC] “This baby can fit so much bloatware!”
God no. I’m going to Costco tomorrow.
Have you tried repairing the game files from the launcher?
Good luck out there, PC parts (specially GPUs) are crazy expensive these days
Last year, I did a panic buy at Best Buy so I could play the first 6v6 trial. Horrible idea. The video card they had behind a glass cabinet door was from 2017! ![]()
I returned it within a few days then bought a 2023 model off of eBay/Newegg. Never buying a video card from Best Buy again.
For a long time I could play the game with no issues. It would crash when I would exit, the windows screen would show up, and it would crash a moment later. It’s only been the last few weeks that I’ve been crashing in game. Which really sucks because I want to play Stadium but I don’t want to get banned. ![]()
I used to build my own systems when I was younger but I haven’t kept up with it. I know pre built systems cost more but I don’t have the time or the patience anymore. ![]()
Hey if it makes you feel any better, the pc they gave me at work has a GPU from… ![]()

AN ALMIGHTY GT730!!
Use to be far cheaper to build your own PC, but it seems now you’ll be paying the same or in some cases more.
I could be wrong but that’s what ai’ve been noticing.
Avoid 50 series for now as the drivers are absolute pain atm constant black screen and multiple power cycles to boot back up on 5080
My old video card was a Nvidia 960, which I had no issues on. I had to upgrade because cyberpunk 2077 no longer supported it. My brother had a 1660 that was used, and it worked for a while before I started having issues months ago. ![]()
The pre built tower i saw at Costco had the 4 series in it. It’s what my brother has at the moment. He showed me the Oblivion remaster on it and it was gorgeous.
Go to your local small computer shop, have them do it for you. A million times better than any pre-built, and you are helping your community.
Oh don’t get me wrong, when the card is running it’s an absolute beast but just gotta wait till NVIDIA fix their drivers
I recommend going for 9070XT for less headache
Or just ball out on a 50 series above 5070TI and wait till drivers are fixed
P.S my card cost me a grand ![]()

I would do this if my system wasn’t 5+ years old. I’ve put off getting many games cause my system won’t run them.
No, have them build you one. It will be about the same price, and it wont be full of the corner cutting parts you get in pre-built computers.
I have never heard of this service before. I’ll need to look into it.
That does make me feel betters. Thank you ![]()
I’ve still got my GTX 1060 6GB. Don’t have the heart to throw it away, was an absolute workhorse. Might build myself an entertainment rig just for hooking up to the widescreen and watching TV shows. Maybe an old card but it can still perform.
Now I’ve got a 7900 XTX paired with a 9800X3D. Thankfully won’t need to upgrade any parts for the next few years, some of the pricing is just brutal right now. Actually not brutal-just absolutely absurd.
