I do like riot so I’m not going to bash them but blizz is by far superior!! They have way more successful hits then riots 2 games this is like comparing big Ben to Tom Brady it’s not even close
Which is also their fault, they will not move on to other genres. They are playing it too safe.
Likewise you may not be Blizzard’s target audience. Yet you can still play their games and enjoy it.
But most of your examples point to specialization in game genres, not design philosophies. Thus if I had to say what genre they are the best at, I would say RTS.
Also if blizzard needs to pick a lane then I would say its better if they stay to casual. Which I feel is what they are better at.
Most of Blizzard’s games are causal games with esports tacked on. So yes, maybe Blizzard should not try to cram esports into all their games.
Hell its what lead to HOTS’ funding getting cut and I love that game.
Its also a fighting game, which is not their cup of tea.

How can a company with 2 games even compare. Valorent is super meh. Lol is good but just a refinished warcraft 3 map in the end. Nothing about lol was there idea all stolen from other companies

Well you say it can’t be about IPs and titles but the call of duty IP is more successful than all those games you mentioned by a significant distance.
Ten years after the start, LoL is STILL not profitable.
Anyone looking at the numbers of CoD and LoL would say that CoD is being significantly better managed.
You may not like Blizzard but to say they should follow a company where their star IP is still not profitable after 10 years is not great advice.
Riot will be praying that esport takes off properly right now.
In their defense, LOL is a pretty fun game.

Sadly I have an inability to trash talk, I envy you somewhat.
Im blizzards audience, just pick one are you a esport or a casual fun arcade shooter you cant have both, im a fan of both and right now overwatch is neither.
They did try a few like table tennis or something sometime back.
But they can create epic legendary games like RDR2 cause they know their strengths.
Esports is a specilization and they are doing it in every genre that has succeeded as esports.
MOBA, tactical fps, fighting games.
They are not specializing to a particular genre.
But taking genres that excel in esports and making a game that becomes the best at it.
I dont know how else i can word it to make you get it.

I explained above, before valorant they had made no shooters but they know how to make competetive esport games.
Now they are doing the same in fighting genre.
Making esports is their cup of tea. they pick genre’s that have the best esports scenes and make the best game they can do for that genre to become that best in that scene.
a good comparison would be EA SPORTS division, were they would take various irl sports and make it into a game overtime they snuffed out all competition.
Cause its a lane specialisation by ACTIVISION for over 22 yrs.

LOL is making a billion and a half every year for the past decade.
They are profitable, their esports division is not profitable but is almost breaking even.
Its still the largest esports interms of viewers so its only a matter of time before esports goes mainstream which is when sponsors will give out money that can let these yearly spending on tournament break even.
Also purely as a studio and so far all their titles being pc only they are very profitable on their investment.
They cant ofcourse compete monetarily with the like of established multiple platform casual audience game studios like activision or rockstar in terms of revenue.
The thing is they are the best in their category.
While blizzard is faltering and bungling everything.

I thought d2 and war3 got remastered making them a modern game on modern battle.net servers. Riot did not create moba genre a guy named ice frog did. D3 flopped on release but after it got fixed had and has a huge following. I’m pretty sure when I buy blizzard stocks call of duty is in those games included in the stock making it a blizzard game even though atvi was a different company to start
Since about 2010, Blizz was overly creative and often confused about what’s the core and what’s the flavour. Starcraft 2 was considered to be a real-time strategy game, but they heavily focused on the mechanical skill part, and was a top-down shooter with some strategy flavour. Diablo 3 at release also was just a real-money auction house with an amusement arcade before the expansion(removed it). OW no different. About half the rosters are not shooty in a simple shooter game. An interesting recipe like 2 tbsp ground beef and 2 pounds salt.

Overwatch is a competitive game first that is why they made overwatch league.
was a total failure it doesnt even have a ladder and in the main tournament the game crashed so much they had to use the old w3 to complete tournament, sad thing is old w3 is now not even available due to this.
He made a mod that required you to have wc3 and external tools to install.
LOL made the first standalone polished moba game, they made it a game.
The guy with all due respect made a mod.
Everything you said is correct but ice frog still made the the moba game type even if it’s a mod he still started it
