Right click won't hold

Are there any update on this? I have a g502 and it’s been happening to me just the past month or so. Only really noticeable on widow and ashe because I keep unscoping.
It only happens when I’m in game. I’ve done tests and it doesn’t happen outside of game. It also doesn’t even happen in the practice range, just in actual games.

Update: Cleaning the mouse button has mostly fixed it, but I will still have occasional issues of getting unscoped while still holding down the right mouse button. I do have a Logitech mouse. Leaving my initial post intact so it’s more apparent just how many characters can be affected by this issue.

I’m having the same issue as well. I’ve been testing in the practice range and experience it there, as well.

Characters affected:
dVa’s defense matrix
Hammond’s grapple
Widow’s scope
Ashe’s scope
Ana’s scope
Rein’s shield
Brig’s shield
Moira’s decay
Orisa’s halt sometimes acts like I didn’t do anything
Hog’s secondary fire sometimes doesn’t shoot
Sigma’s shield sometimes stops moving forward/won’t initiate
Bastion’s self heal will stop
Doomfist’s punch
Genji’s alt fire won’t go sometimes
Junkrat’s conc mine won’t trigger sometimes
Soldier’s helix rockets won’t fire sometimes
Sombra’s hack won’t complete
Symmetra’s secondary releases too soon
Torb’s secondary fire won’t go sometimes
Zen’s secondary to charge up releases too soon

Characters I haven’t noticed an issue with or it’s very rare:
McCree’s fan the hammer
Mei’s icicle fire
Lucio’s boop very seldom does it but won’t act as if I fired
Mercy’s damage boost will sometimes release but not as frequently as other issues

I have cleaned out under my mouse button and that does seem to have helped in the training range, and reduced how often it happens in game. However, I’m still running into it in game occasionally.

I have the same Problem now on April 2020. How i can fix it?

I also had this issue on specifics games like Overwatch or COD Warzone where the right click doesn’t seems to hold and seems to stutter. I read online that this is a common issue with logitech and razer mouse. Apparently blowing into your mouse will fix this (I didn’t believed it at first but it actually solve it for me). You can read it on reddit by searching for “razers mouse double clicking problem” (cannot provide the link).

The answer from tomshardware forum: Logitech Mice do this as well. There’s a trick to try and fix it:
The toggle switch that operates the ‘button’ sometimes gets a static charge buildup. To help release it, breath a few breaths into the gap between the button and the base of the mouse (the slit that allows the button to move and ‘click’). The humidity in your breath will usually dissipate the static buildup and the button will stop double clicking- most of the time. I repaired a Logitech G602 using this method, it might work on the Razer mice as well.

*Note- it may take a few tries to do this, I had to do this to my mouse over several days. Slow breaths are better as it allows more humidity to dissipate the static.

I hope it helps you, and sorry for my grammar I’m not a native english speaker.

To anyone that still recieves issues like these, please start a new thread.

This issue is outdated, for easier tracking it’s recommended making a new thread

So far for that, this thread should be discontinued.

Worked for me ! G502 Hero mouse

Same issue, g403. Saw the comment about static messing w the switch and it dawned on me that the issue only started right when I got a new mousepad. Switched back to old mousepad and voila, everything’s in order again.

This happens to particular microswitches due to static (see a rust forum on steam). Blow softly into your mouse near the button, humidity removes some static apparently.
What I want to know is why these games are so sensitive to it, but holding the right mouse in windows is fine.

2022 soon, blizzard ? No fix ? no technical help here ?
Razer Mamba, same problem, right clic not working sometimes, i dont had any problem on others games only in OW, my full computer is up to date. Drivers, etc

I have randomly had the same issue in Overwatch 2.
I found out that it was gone exactly when i turned off the high precision mouse input.
You can find it in the settings:

Gameplay > Miscellaneous > Enable High Precision Mouse Input > Off

Update: Okay I had it happen again today.
It was only a temporary fix for me.

Hm, that didn’t work for me.
