Rezzing Dead Falling Teamates

So anyone know how this properly works? Whenever I try to instantly rez a Pharah who just died in the air the rez always gets cancelled. But, I’ve seen other Mercy players able to do it. What’s the tech behind it? Are u supposed to hold angelic descent while doing it?

I think you have to be right next to them to res them. I am not a Mercy main, but do play her sometimes as my go to Support character. I have had my resses cancelled as well either because someone booped me away from my teammate I was trying to res, or because I moved away too quickly when ressing them.

If you are trying to res mid-air, maybe using your ult would help, though I never been in that situation where I had to res someone as they where in the air.

Yes, rezzing teammates mid air is what I’m trying to figure out

Aight so I’ve studied this and I have the answer for you. You can practice it in a specific custom game (alongside superjump rez’s or superjump in general if you so desire).

Both Mercy’s GA (Guardian Angel) and Rez (resurrect) work in a similar manner.
When you fly to a target with GA, you fly to where your teammate is standing, correct? If you GA to a Genji who dashes away, you still continue flying to where he was located when you started your GA. The game engine has already decided where you will go after pressing the GA button, so even if your target moves away, you will still GA to the same location.

This is the same thing for rez’ing targets. The radius you can rez is determined by the game the moment you Rez. This means if the corpse falls (rez’ing pharah mid air) or is moved away from you (by a platform), you can still rez them as long as YOU yourself do not move out of the initial radius.

So to Rez a pharah, don’t hesitate and rez them the moment the option appears on your screen. Then make sure you hold Angelic Descent. This will prevent you from falling to fast and leaving the initial rez-zone you started. Also don’t move with the w/a/s/d keys because you’re already slowing falling down and could potentially exceed max rez-distance by trying to move.

TL;DR:
When rez’ing Pharah mid-air, press rez immediately, dont move and hold angelic descent.

Yeah, what was said already pretty much.
There is a certain max range that rez can be used in, same as when rezzing a teammate on a ledge, you can start to fall down while rezzing, but if you fall down too quickly, the rez gets cancelled.
If you get booped out of range, rez gets cancelled.

So when rezzing a Pharah, your best shot is when the “soul” thingy is above you and you let yourself fall down at the same speed.

It doesn’t work anymore … it used to work because it didn’t count vertical distant or so.

Afaik that rez as theyre still falling as a soul thing is mainly just buggy interactions and is pretty much just a hit or miss as to whether it does or does not cancel

I’m not so sure about that because I can do it consistently in a workshop?

Mind sharing the workshop code for that?

You need to stay within 5 meter to where the body was when you started to rez.
