Reyes' family. Reaper theory

Ok so we were all left dangaling when the Overwatch comic ‘reflections’ showed us a bit more information of what the characters do, when not on the battlefeild. For example, Genji, accompanied by Zenyatta is writing a letter, Mercy is reading a letter, McCree is past out in the Castillo bar with Sombra, Widow is visiting Gerards gravestone etc. But for now I want to dig depper into what Reaper aka, Gabriel Reyes is doing in the strip. Reyes, dressed in his reaper uniform can be seen crouched in an allyway watching a family pass by. This invites many questions e.g Is this a random family or a substantial one? Does Reyes have a connection within the family? Is he just plotting his next kill? Is he envyous of their happiness? Is the family even remolty related to what Reyes is doing?

I have the begining of an answer. During an interview with one of the story writters/developers, i think it was Micheal Chu, they are asked about the familys’ relativeness to the scene. Chu merely answered with ‘this is not a random family’. This leads us to believe that Reyes has a pre-existing relationship with the family.

In Febuary of 2019, we were treated to some lore along with a new way of consuming content. Through this new book style passage titled: Bastet, Ana Amari is coinsedendally reunited with her long lost friend Jack Morrison, although morrison now goes by the alias Soldier:76. During this interaction we learn that Jack had been in a loving relationship with another man, it was later confirmed on twitter that he is gay. Ana asks “are you still keeping a candle lit for (man)?” (Srry cant remember his name right now). This could indicate that Morrison’s past lover has since passed away. Morrison replys with somber along with the statement " at least you and reyes had families". We already know that Ana has a daughter, Fareeha Amari, but Reyes’ family has never been relevant or has even existed beofe in overwatch lore.

I think its safe to assume that the family seen in ‘freflections’ is infact his. Theres one more thing though. I mentioned before that Widowmaker was seen visiting her deceased dusband’s grave. Gerard lecroix was a high ranking officer in Overwatch and im sure you know the story. My theory is that within the talon organization there is a minor rivalry with Reyes and Widow on one side, and Moira on the other. Both Reyes and Widow were altered by Moira in some stort of way that makes them inhuman. One of the voice interactions with Widow and Moira is:
Moira, How are you feeling LeCroix?
Widow, I dont feel, thats the point isnt it?

Widow is being a little petty and isnt saying how she really feels. Reyes’ modifications may make him feel like he cannot be classified along with normal citizens and he may feel unwelcome, now that he is pretty much a terrorist phantom. I believe widow feels great sorrow and sadness for what she has done and what she has become. It is very clear that she doesnt have a problem killing people she isnt associated with (e.g. Mandatta) but she was manipulated into killing her own husband, and I think this got to her. Moira’s irreversible effects on the two may have sparked a shared dread twards her.

Let me know what you think!

Pretty sure one of the adults in the comic is Gabriel’s kid. Likely the woman, since the rain is erased from her face and she seems to be the focus of the panel.

Thanks! Since writing this I saw someone else take a similar approch and theorised tthat reaper is helping widow escape talon and this makes sense, if you think about it because reaper and gerard were probably friends since they had a similar rank in the same organization
