I don’t get what you’re trying to argue here. The above is not limited to Sombra and can be applied to most other DPS heroes. They either excel in low, medium or long range damage output. Sometimes, they excel in more than one of the these categories.
As for tanks, I don’t think I need to explain that what. It’s quite obvious that tanks being wide helps every single DPS in the game. not just Sombra.
Looks like you’re still unsure as to what I’m referring to. I’m saying that her damage per second per magazine is incredibly low, in comparison to other DPS heroes. That combined with her spread makes her DPS pretty low (in the context of the other DPS). By itself, it’s fine. Thus, my original statement; that there’s no need to nerf a hero who’s damage is already sub-par when compared to other DPS.
No point in keeping stealth if sombra isn’t meant to flank anymore.
Binding health pack drop to a voice command would be a terrible idea since the spam would be infuriating, even if there’s a one second delay.
Also binding it to that voiceline would distract and confuse the other supp since he won’t be able to see the situation where the target really needs healing.
Do I turn around to heal him? Or is he saying that to get packs from the drone?
This would also require to change the overall delay between each 4 voicelines, all that for just one ability, not worth it.
if she is still emping to win fights for her team, punishing enemies with hack, and occasionally stealth flanking to bully enemy backlines, how does adding healing for her teammates while sombra is out of the fight when she would normally be waiting in stealth make her more useless than she already is? you admit she is already a very under performing hero. you don’t think that her reworked kit alongside TWO other dps teammates could make her very powerful, more valuable than her team relying on her and only one other dps to secure kills without range or spam damage?
how would you improve her kit so she:
stops ruining the game for the 5 teammates on her team
without straight up ruining the game for the 6 enemy players
Yea you really dont understand how to play sombra at all maybe in bronze and silver she might be able to get easy free kills but put a sonbra vs a hanzo mcree junkrat and try that mojority of the time you lose the match up sombra is a brilliant hero so underrated and misunderstood. She shares alot of qualities with lucio of being a team base hero. Lucio best ability speed boost and sombra hack requires you and your team to be on the same page and carry and master these team reliant hero in solo queue isnt easy at all. And also sombra isnt a straight forward character she requires a certen level of gamesense and decision making to pull of successfully this is why low level sombras arnt that good becuase they understanding of the game is low and with sombra you need to he able to know what the enemy going to do before they do it what ability. What ultimates. Lets say you won a fight you need to know what ults they want to use to try win the next fight. If a sombra player got this she is extremely powerful like on the verge of being op but not quite because countering her requires you to play specific heros. And for all this her trade of is burst damage she weak to burst damage and she doesnt have any. But she great as she is.
And i dont understand why people suggesting and wanting changes to a hero they hardly play makes no sense because they understanding of the hero is minimal because they never play them.
no more stun please. Just leave EMP as it is for the support version.
She already deals support like damage (in a realistic environment but this is blizzard balancing their game so it isn’t the case).
why don’t you provide with what you’d like a support version of Sombra to have? making her a support could help in making her way more viable so suggestions are welcome.
It’s either bottom tier or viable support. Her being a support would make her go well with most comps and she would finally be able to get value from without sucking the fun of everyone in the game that doesn’t rely on primary fire.
She wont be and never will be blizzard has made that desision years ago when they stopped ult charge from health packs snd decreased her spred. I 100percent highly doubt they change sombra drastically because they isnt any need to the translocator changes was a quality of life change to people who actually play her not for people to play her
To elaborate on why flanking would now be a detriment to her kit:
-by going on a flank you can’t reposition your drone to a target that would need it. Just like zen, you can’t leave your orb on 1 teammate for the fight and call it a day.
-you can’t help your other supp if they get dived or focused, you could get back with translocator but in this case you would need to leave it close to your team which would leave it exposed to ennemy attack and thus guarantee you a certain death since you lose your escape.
I would rather her be a bottom tier DPS than a support.
Make no mistake - I understand why people get frustrated with hack. But I also think people blow it out of proportion as well. This is a game that focuses on counter play and counter picks. If you play one of the few heroes that are so detrimentally impacted by hack, you can switch your hero.
Yes, but it doesn’t help when all the heroes i play the most are hard countered by Sombra on each role. Lúcio, Winston, Genji, Reinhardt and Zen. Whenever she is viable, she compensates by making a lot of heroes not viable, so either she is really bad or other characters become bad. She definitely needs a full overhaul. I want her good solely for the reason that i’d duo with my Sombra main friend and play as Genji to kick butts, but if enemy team had a Sombra aswell my life would be hell lol.
I’m all for revamping her kit. I’ve made that clear many times in other threads. I like her as is but understanding the frustration with hack and EMP makes me open to reworks.
That said, I do not want her to be a support, and I think OP’s idea is extremely bad and makes her significantly worse, not to mention braindead boring. I do not have an answer for you with how to rework her (I’m not a game designer) but I my hundreds (if not 1000+) of hours on Sombra makes it pretty easy to see bad ideas that come from people who have never played her.
stealth would primarily be used for sombra to go to her hacked healing stations and restock her supply of healthpacks. She would still use it occasionally to disrupt enemies. liking stealth flank hacking a zen or baptiste who you know have trans/immorality before your team engages, or lying in wait for an enemy mercy to rez their teammate in order to cancel the rez and kill her. also since sombra is no longer safe from CC or damaging abilities after EMPing an enemy team, her new rollout for ulting would mostly be
stealth > EMP > teleport out
alternatively: hide on high ground and drop > EMP > stealth or teleport out
teammates can visually see the drone hovering over that teammate. Ideally, a little sombra symbol icon would hover over that pocketed teammate too that is visible thru walls for her teammates. yes it might be a little distracting, but in addition to seeing the drone pocket that second support should be able to hear the voiceline from the character and catch on that that teammate is being pocketed already.
Tbh im surprised blizzard hasn’t implemented an option to disable spammed communication messages after hearing/reading the first com. i understand the annoyance.
no need to change anything about communication voiceline timings. if they spam the second “i need healing” command too fast before the first health pack is finished casting, no second pack will follow it. in combat, no good player will waste finger movement spamming that command key when they already have a sombra who can heal them mid fight and track their movement and health. Even if they over heal themselves, there would now be remainder health packs on the ground that this teammate can go to if they are still desperate for heals
and if somehow a teammate who is not in chat is really bent on draining your health pack resources, put your pocket drone on someone else or swap healers. that person should get the message and rely on your hacked healing stations or other support for heals
Going out of your way mid fight to stand on health pack waiting for them to respawn doesn’t seems like a fun interaction.
It seems to me that with a rate of 1 health packs/second they would deplete way to quicly, forcing you to spent most of your time on health packs for your drone to stay active.
Let’s say you have 15 charge at the beginning of th match you equip your tank with the drone, it surely is gonna be dropping 1 each sec.
Results, 10-15 sec later after the beginning of the engagement you have to go stand on either a small or big health pack to regen charges.
You translocate/stealth to one, if you’ve taken damage you must first get healed with it, then you can start building charge at those rates:
-2 sec for a small hacked pack which is SLOWER than the drop speed.
-3 sec for a big health pack which is the SAME speed as the drop.
Congrats you must now stay on it if you want your team to be healed efficiently or you can go re-engage, but by the time you reach your position, your drone won’t probable have any health packs left
Surely you realize you started and ended your entire novel with two pretty huge contradictions? Hack can NOT possibly be a “very free kill” while stating Sombra provides no value between EMPs.
Your whole thing is just a bunch of “My team’s Sombra is throwing and worthless, red Sombra is an OP assassin menace with no counterplay!!”
