As the title of this topic states, I think there should be a reward for successfully reporting someone.
If you ever reported someone, and the report has gone through, you will receive a message stating that the user that reported has been handled. Along with receiving that message, I also think that you should receive something else in return besides the satisfaction knowing that someone you reported has been dealt with.
Most of the time, it seems like the majority of reports come from competitive. With the exception from abusive chat/bad battle reports, cheating/gameplay sabotage can cause you to lose SR. If you report someone for cheating/gameplay sabotage, while in a competitive game, and the person gets punished, I think you should gain 25-30 SR as a reward. While you do not lose all the games when you have a thrower/cheater on your team, it would still greatly benefit the people that do lose.
If you don’t report someone while in a competitive game or its for something else besides cheating/gameplay sabotage, you should receive 1-2 lootboxes as a reward.
While I do see flaws in this plan, people over-reporting someone, reporting for no reason, etc. Blizzard still has the right to punish you if you overuse and abuse the reporting feature.
I think that this would cause a greater crackdown on people abusing the rules and motivate people to report more often. It could give the people that lost SR, to rightfully get their SR back.
TL;DR
Report someone, if the person is punished, give the reporter 1-2 lootboxes or 25-30 SR if they were in a comp game and reported for cheating/gameplay sabotage. There are some flaws but Blizzard can still punish someone for abusing the report feature.
