Sombra’s virus buff has turned squishies into fish food, especially those who just got -25 HP… she already was the top predator for supports like Mercy and Lucio and now she just dunks on them lol
Juno was quite literally almost perfect in her playtest. I’ve never seen the community more unaminously agree that a new hero was just right. Not too strong, not too weak. She just needed some QoL changes.
Instead you guys nerfed her HP AND nerfed her healing and damage output by a whopping 18%…18%.
Why…?
Her healing and damage from her gun were not at all oppressive. They were at a perfect value. Her healing wasn’t strong enough to heal through burst damage but if you landed all her shots was still very rewarding. Her damage was mid because she can’t headshot. But it was fine because not every support needs to be a DPS monster. What was the reason for nerfing both by almost 20%?
She went from feeling like the most well balanced, solid new hero we’ve gotten in OW2 to feeling like a piece of wet newspaper like OG Lifeweaver…
I’m fine with her HP nerf but the almost 20% damage/healing nerf is insane.
Please do not keep these balance changes in the game for more than a week. We need a hotfix ASAP before we ruin an otherwise great season with a weak new hero and overbearing Sombra meta.
She feels pretty inconsequential overall right now. Her healing went from good to meh, her damage went from meh to bad, and her survivability went from slightly weak to an absolute joke.
She felt almost there in the play test a few weeks ago and this is a massive step backward.
They will likely revert the changes, after a week or two of complaints. I played Juno in my recent game, and I think the lack of her self-healing is making it difficult to engage others. She can’t duel well at all. Maybe it’s just a skill issue, but she feels like you need to play right next to your team at all times to get value out of Juno.
I’ve played 8 games today and there was a Sombra in 6 of them. Sometimes on both teams.
Most of them suck so whatever. But god… This little goblin is the perfect fun-killer. And she smokes Juno pretty hard by the way. It’s a bit too much, they should rework this terrible hero again.
Literally! It makes 0 sense! 95% of the feedback on her from the Playtest from pros and casuals alike was “She’s balanced, she’s fun, she’s solid, she might be undertuned but she feels good to play so it’s fine, her damage feels dinky being unable to headshot”. And the Dev response to that is an HP nerf and 20% heal and damage nerf?

I think they need to go back to the OW1 Sombra direction of no more permanent invis maybe. Idk what they can do with her but god is she annoying right now
I would increase her base speed to 6.0 to match Genji and Tracer. That is first and foremost.
I would removed this auto-stealth and move it back to a cooldown, also put it back on a timer so for one, the player has control on when he or she wants to go into stealth mode.
Remove virus, and have it just that when a target is hack they recieve x% more damage from SOMBRA ONLY. Revert the changes the prevent chain hack.
Increase EMP Ultimate charge, however, give Sombra a small Ult charge when she and her allies use an Hack Health-Pack.
I am fine with her Translocator, if anything I would decrease the cooldown from 5 seconds to 4 seconds.
EMP Now cleanse and Hack and enemies Sombra’s Health Pack.
If those are not enough then do small QoL changes, as such- EMP now reset your translocator or it replenish your ammo when activated. Not both though.
And if she lacks the damage department, adjust her additional damage on the hack target, while increasing her primary gun back to 8 damage per second.
I been wanting the devs to revert A LOT of these changes for many heroes, but with perma stealth, perma trans (used to), etc. These just make the heroes water downed and a lot easier, while making them more frustrating. Do not even get me started with the changes they decided for Mercy… It is like a GA revert or buff is no longer the dev’s concern, even though they have stated that GA would be something they are looking at, and listening to feedback.
I saw those Sombra patch notes, and said yeah. I’m good. I don’t know what is with their fixation with Sombra, but I’m not about to get farmed as a support main.
Sooo the devs can have her run rampant. But I personally won’t be partaking in the clownery She was already annoying asf before.

I like all of these changes!
That’s my point though. Everyone from high ranked players to casuals agreed that she was balanced, on the weaker/mid side. Needed QoL buffs, needing minor buffs to things like how fast her heal rockets homed in or being able to place her ult, etc.
Not heavy handed nerfs lol
Maybe changes that don’t make her utterly obnoxious to play against for the whole lobby?
Giving balance feedback is one of the main things that drives the Devs to change things and is never pointless. I’ve been around the forums for too many years.
I’m also on board with Somvra’s changes, but like, I think people would find them more obnoxious to play into.
The issue is, if you move her complexity to setup, the target doesn’t get to see that.
They assume the difficulty in setup is zero.
So, if you make stealth back on a timer (no matter how much I would enjoy that more), the compensation to get her to a reasonable win rate would be all things they CAN see.
And thus, she will be more annoying rather than less.
That is the problem. Stealth on timer is good, EXCEPT that it annoys the target of Sombra even more than infinite stealth. Even if they think it would annoy them less.
