Oh I agree. Resource meter stealth would be a huge improvement over old stealth for sure.
2.0 was amazing and better.
tbf it was more interesting
and at least it saw more play time than taximetra
old 3.0 finite tp was 12s cd starting on placement and lasted 10s long. old sym’s (<=2.0) was entirely different obvs.
umm no you can’t just leave tp in 1 spot forever. where one should have it and for what purpose changes a lot during the course of a match and the key factors for that are where your team is and where the enemy team is. both of whch changes very frequently over the course of the match ESPECIALLY post shield and tank nerfs —> sym WILL be needing to take down tp (often) even if it doesn’t get destroyed.
very simple example: a spawn tp adds 0 value while your team is playing away from the spawn and thus tp should be moved and repurposed when they do (unless overtime maybe).
there have been suggestions to keep infinite duration and get a better cd mechanic e.g. Arcadium’s idea of “start cd on placement and then pause the cd timer halfway until destruction”. but if we’re keeping a cruddy cd mechanic because of infinite duration, we’re defs better off just getting a revert. and there have been legit a significant number of complaints about the cd mechanic.
Aight thx
I do a boatload of Sym, you can leave it up for long periods.
I am sorry, all Sym’s kit needs is speed of activation improvements and this c/d change. Again, the problem is not being “infinite”.
You certainly can as how you can be invis for long periods of time
Is it more effective though?
Questionably
As someone who mained both Sombra version i love infinite stealth but im in for some buffs.
For example give her weapon a spread reduction like sentry Bastion has.
Other buffs i have in mind are Translocator not showing the enemy the direction of teleporting, or reducing the ability lines volume for enemies.
Those are definitely not good buffs IMO
Removes the counterplay of Translocator and less spread is very useless for sombra
It’s already super tiny, it’s not 2016
But idk, I respect it I guess
And i too respect those who like the pre rework Sombra more as well. You mained Sombra much earlier than i did. Im trying to find a way to buff Sombra and her being more useful in every rank.
It is for certain activities, most certainly it is.
What people who gripe about infinite teleport are mad about is really the c/d time. They are not a given, Blizz just chose to increase the c/d. Sa

c/d time.
yeah but you can’t really give a low CD to an infinite ability, which is why infinite kinda holds her back
So they’d have to find a way to balance that
Sure you can - why not? There is no defacto rule that says you can’t. We have literally infinite abilities across the board - D.va primary comes to mind, Mercy boost/heal… I am sure there are others. The only value the teleporter (and Stealth) brings is offset by its use; teleport is setup and therefore static, so its value is in a limited use case; stealth’s value is literally offset by the fact she cannot do anything damage-wise to the enemy team. People here “infinite” and they seem to think this automatically provides some direct, unlimited or high value, it just doesn’t.
I agree with you but I don’t like the comparisons (lol)
But I agree with the fact that they don’t provide value from being infinite, however, guessing the devs’ view, having your team teleport instantly for 30m (I think?) Or being invisible the entire game is too powerful and must be tune down, and it’s not wrong, +75% infinite stealth would definitely be too good, however she’s underperforming so would it really be that bad?
(Contest objectives would definitely be too annoying tho)
But the thing is
That the possibility is not realistic or useful, having your team instantly teleport between 2 spots forever or being invisible forever, you won’t do it, which is why and where the argument comes from
Since you won’t do it
Would you rather have a limited instant tp to various sites of the map? Or a permanent locked position
Would you rather be invisible forever? Or be faster with a limited invis?
It does come down to preference on these points.
That being said, I think many Sym players vastly underestimate the value of just a teleport from spawn to the farthest reach. Blizz own research showed that it shortened the return time by five seconds per player; that is huge when it comes to defense. People underestimate how impacting this is. I know Sym players bemoan taxi service, but when you look at it as a value prop, its immense. Not enough Ana’s, McCrees and so on will use the teleport to high ground, and I think one factor is the speed of deployment.
I have long wished for this for Sombra: move faster out of Stealth, and normal speed in Stealth. This would offer more of what is perceived to be fair counter-play and also ups the skill floor for when to use Stealth and when not to. What do you think?

underestimate the value of just a teleport from spawn to the farthest reach.
I don’t think it’s underestimate
Rather that you could do that with old TP, you just had to do it manually, so taking the possibilities it’s a Nerf because you could do the exact same thing in a limited amount of time, and in return have TP more available

What do you think?
I personally prefer the raw speed boost that raises the ceiling unless the decloake is a major boost in which case it could work
