So i took a few months off of overwatch as i needed a break. Decided to come back now with role que and 222.
So far ive noticed an increase in toxicity across the board. I play dps and support, both which i left off high plat. The que times for dps are insanely long, and that role dropped all the way to 2200. Support has dropped to 2300, and ive noticed most people dont counter pick, give up easily, and are playing on off roles that simply placed way to high bringing people down with them.

Recently lost 10 in a row, it ranged from leavers, to throwers in spawn, to if i go ana on support i have gold damage with a hanzo/reaper, or I go zen and i have gold heals with a moira. I stopped when i played widow and had 40 elims 15k damage and only a couple deaths but the team decided to argue then a smurf on the other team acted like i was bad after killing him.

So what the heck is happening to OW? Anyone else have this? Am i just having a bad run? I dont give a crap about a fake number in a game, but i do care about having fun and even matches.

When you finish your placements you still get placed near where you ended the addition of role made this a big problem dps mains are now flexing onto new roles to avoid queues but they are put at their dps ranks which in many cases is too high.

The opposite is also true support and tank mains are now trying dps since they no longer have to fight for a spot, as for the toxicity I think its a symptom of role queue having many people at the wrong ranks people are expecting equal skill among teammates and opponent’s and its just not the case and won’t be for a while.

Leavers and throwers have been a problem since like season 3 they aren’t going anywhere and until the roles settle into the right spots it will not improve.

Thanks for the info, honestly i may just be done again for awhile. It was my favorite game, but now i get off angry. Its also rough solo que as my friends all moved on aswell

It’s often. A solid 40% of my games are simply lost due to the circumstances you listed above, in addition to others.

I threw in the towel. My last day was Friday/Saturday. I played 7 full games in a row, with each and every one a complete wash. From another thread I posted in on the final 7 games.

"Game 1: Leaver on my side. Didn’t return.

Game 2: Winston vs a Double shield/Bast/Reaper. Winston blamed the supports for not healing him when he dived in.

Game 3: Leaver R2 on my side, they didn’t come back.

Game 4: Smurf Fist that was ignored. He got a 4 kill on my team with no ult. I was not 1 of the 4 dead, as I know how to play around him.

Game 5: Duo that were torb/mei dps. Mei walled spawn, Torb put his turret in spawn and emoted.

Game 6: “76 and Zen. Please stop going past the frontline.”. “Zen you’re not a flanker, Man. Please don’t go off on your own.”. “76, it’s a Zen Orb on Pharmercy vs just you. You’re not going to kill her off. Maybe a swap?” No to each of those instances.

Game 7: ‘Hey team? they’ve a pair of very good staggering shields, maybe we shouldn’t double sniper?’ Our dps stayed double sniper both rounds. The other team stayed double shields."

The community in ranks under GM are basically going through atrophy. The next crop of FPS games are coming out (or are already out), with better communities from jump. What you’re left with, is the worst of the worst, with those that try their best each game to pick up the pieces.

My best advice, Hash? Take a few more months off, then check back to see if a thing has changed. The playerbase has never been worse in terms of ‘bad behavior’.

I think i will, i mean in my time off ive hit top rank in destiny 2 comp lol solo que mind you. Now im almost in silver on here and cant win at all.

Just logged in, heres how it went,

Game 1 dps 15min que, canceled leaver

Game 2 support 6 min que, absolute stomp cuz rein just kept charging into enemy team and shattered into shield

Game 3 support 5 min que, canceled leaver

Its like the better the i play the harder the matches, the more i lose. Its an endless cycle. 4 years and they havent figured out, leavers/backfill, penalties, solo que.

Meanwhile other fps games have added solo que and team que, back fill, harsher penalties, true pbsr etc…

But instead of complaining i think im gona just move on

lol you two. at least you found each other right? you can be miserable together in constant discontentment.

It’s really the only answer. My backlog of games is disturbingly large. There are FPS games coming out that are streamlined at launch, and Overwatch is 3 years in, doting over OWL while low ranks are ripe with problems.

Meanwhile, those that do their best to improve and have improved, are left with ‘Reins that shatter into shield’. No thanks. There’s just better games.

Lol do i know u, no i dont. I made a post about what ive observed happening to a game that even a blind man could see.

So many blizz shills and white knights anymore. I wish the game was still good honestly i do. Sad thing is if anyone ever decided to play any other fps then they would see OW is nothing but behind with the times of competitive gaming
