Just want to say, I’m loving that the game is bringing back old collabs so those of us who weren’t around before get another shot to purchase them.
WoW will always be special to me. I wasn’t expecting that collab to return just yet, but I guess since the new expansion is coming the time seemed right.
The Cowboy Bebop collab returning was also extremely welcomed.
I hope you’ll keep up this trend. Some others I’d like to return in upcoming seasons are the Transformers collab, Avatar TLA, and at some point the Gundam Wing one again.
Also pretty optimistic about the potrntial future collabs. I think you could do a lot with Yu-Gi-Oh!

I’m so happy that they’re bringing back old collaborations!

I wish they instead gave us the Persona collab. Ain’t nobody going to even care once it finally drops.
These are exciting times!
To me, this signals that theres gonna be some AWESOME new collabs coming out soon! And these return collabs are just fillers until then.
I still cant believe I got Magni Torb and Slyvanas Widowmaker in the 77 Free Loot boxes! Like damn! When did Blizzard get so generous!

I wish LEGO didn’t step away from Blizz… Imagine LEGO Orisa…

If it returns or not is not up for blizzard to decide (well in WoW case it is), but depends on the contract. Something like LEGO Bastion will not return until LEGO gives it go for example.
Could be the same for some collabs like Avatar or OPM.
Kind of hope we’re seeing the Collaborations slow down a bit. Which is why we’re seeing old ones repeat. CoD is walking back some of their more egregious immersion breakering collabs. Might be a sign that Blizzard realized they need to be more mondful of what they add.
Overwatch has been pretty good at avoiding immersion breaking collabs so far. But the danger of a Beavis and Butthead collab is also one bad marketing decision away.

I’m not too concerned about Persona. I enjoyed P4 The Golden on the Vita, and P3 was alright but Idk what the best version of that even is.
People went crazy over P5, and I waited years for them to release Royal on XBOX. And when they did I got it, and at first I was digging it. But it was incredibly repetitive and the plot was getting old kind of fast.
It’s cool they’re doing it for the fans, but it’s hardly better than any of the other collabs they’ve had. In the great heirarchy of things I care about, WoW certainly is skyscrapers above Persona. But maybe it’s a bit of a generational thing.

I still think a Mortal Kombat collab would fit in great.

I am a MASSIVE fan of Persona 4 and a relatively huge fan of Persona 3, at least Reload, because I hate turn based games these days and Tartarus was a slog originally. Persona 5 was amazing, but… Yeah, it doesn’t really hold a candle to Persona 3. I still love it, and I believe it was objectively the best game among the three, but I care more about the characters (Persona 3 is my favorite line up) or the overall plot (Persona 4 sweeps effortlessly). Gameplay is whatever in what amounts to a turn based visual novel if we are being honest. It was quite stylish, however. That’s probably a huge reason it caught on. The most refined gameplay and the visual flair to back it up? Definitely a recipe for success.
The problem with WoW is that it’s not really even a collaboration. You can get these in lootboxes. I got the Reinhardt highlight where his hammer is light or whatever. Pretty cool. I think that’s Diablo, but… Whatever. Same difference. I also have the Zenyatta Thor hammer highlight which is hilarious with his shower cap skin. That’s from WoW for sure because he has that orc skin. Kinky!

Agree. They just don’t feel special anymore. When they put that first set of Blizzard skins in for OW1 (Blackhand Doom, Magni Torb, Nova Widow, etc), it felt awesome and like a good fit, but random anime #7 just makes everything feel cheap.

As a player of both, I’ve been playing both about the same actually.
WoW collab was awesome for the heroes that got the skins, however, as someone who also loves Persona. This is the first collaboration SINCE the Warcraft one that I will be picking up more than one from. I thought about Gundam, chose against it because I already have plethora of Mercy skins and I don’t play the other three enough. I bought Avatar’s Toph Venture but that was more about Venture getting a skin over the TLA (even if I do really like that series.)
Persona 5 is the biggest one in the series by far, 3 and 4 were “niche”, 5 blew it into mainstream & Royal only added that even more. I’m not worried these skins won’t sell or will be “forgotten about”, I like that they are spacing it out from the beginning of the season, however (even if in this I want to see the skins so I can buy them already.) because it helps break the frontloaded experience of their seasons.
