Ho boy…what happened? I came back to check out this game after the PvE was cancelled swearing not to come back to this because I felt like the team and executives who run the company simply don’t care about this game anymore because age = abandonment to corporate suits.
I ain’t gonna bash blizzard and beat the dead horse here but this is definitely not the Overwatch I remember. I remember having fun game to game, sweating when I have to, but most of all it felt like there was players who at least give a damn about winning their games. The aura im getting from the playerbase now from my games is that people simply don’t care anymore and they seem more concerned about bullying newcomers or returning players just because they got bronze and haven’t played in years. Is it just me or are healers more powerful than they ever been since ever? Are tanks more brittle and squishy than I remember? Or is it that the damage right now is so out of control that tanks feel like they will just die if you are allowed to dps for more than a couple seconds as a support? Overwatch was never truly ‘balanced’ but it feels out of control like the team has no idea how to balance the game no more? Hell im even questioning if this website is even looked at anymore because there hasn’t been a dev tracked comment made in almost three years.
Did I make a mistake? Is this game dead or is it just in a big state of IDGAF now?
Fifty bucks for a skin btw? That’s more than twice what COD charges for a skin and weapon pack. What exactly justifies cosmetics being sold for a price like that when you aren’t even making the game playable?
You got lost. You don’t know how to fix it. And you are giving up.
Well im not quite done yet, neither are my friends. We want to have fun playing this game again. Can someone step up on the dev team (assuming they are even existent anymore) and speak up about the work they are doing?
You got a game here that soared in its prime and you blundered it with Overwatch ‘2’ but ffs don’t give up. Bring some fun back to the game and have some self respect for your efforts and hard work. I want to play again but I am not gonna be here for a game that is losing it’s own battle with itself.
Bring Overwatch back.
I hate how greedy overwatch is but to be fair it’s not $50 for one skin it’s $50 for 5 skins and other junk no-one cares about.
Eh, vaguely? Their kits are better than ever before, but the presence of the DPS passive makes them pretty whatever.
I doubt it. Tanks are as strong as they have been. They buffed them because queue times were spiraling. DPS players cried about it for like a week before they realized that ain’t too much change.
The damage itself is about the same as always. Again, it’s the DPS passive. It’s obscenely broken but people in this community have yet to comprehend it’s impact… Somehow.
It is the most balanced it has been in Overwatch Dos. That’s not saying much, but it’s the truth.
The developers ignore this place like the plague.

The whole bundle. You get 5 skins/voice lines/player icons/namecards, 3 highlight intros, and 2 emotes if I recall correctly.
Who cares? People have to pay $60 (or maybe $70 these days) to access it.
Okay, then do it? Just complaining about everything is not going to help you have fun. Play the game and enjoy yourself.
Its so inflated. That Anubis skin for reaper was awesome but I only cared for the base. I would have earned it but I returned with 11 hours left on the pass lol.

Yeah, but unless you’re into NFTs, don’t bother, don’t reward Blizzard’s idiocy with your time and especially your money. Force them to do better.
Oh they wont get a cent from me until I see some change - the skin was tempting but it has no weight to it when the game is in the state it is in now.

they ruined the satisfaction of playing tank well. lost all interesst in the role.
started ow2 as a tank main. turned into support really quick.

People really are just as toxic as ever if not more so because accounts are free the only difference here is your now an inexperienced player and there is a scoreboard.
Money for skin is how the game makes money and is a more stable system than ow1 had.
I’m going to just say this is boomer mentality, yes I’d like ow classic as a separate version but to ask for the fun to come back when the current event is extremely good positions yourself as nothing will be good enough unless it’s how you remember it. I’m going to say, this game isn’t for you anymore but the people that actually play the game.

You are settling for mediocrity. I never even mentioned the current event. To say that the current state is extremely good when live player counts are low, complaints are high, and there is little to no communication between the dev teams and the players?
As for stable reward system? I disagree. In part.
You are paying more but it’s not maintaining the game.
They made everyone’s bullets bigger so that they can land more damage, and introduced a passive that nerfs healing when ever you take damage from a dps.
So the supps have to shoot enemies to have any hope of keeping anyone alive.
This is how you see it and how you can justify ignoring the truth and the real point of my post.
Let me be more clear… I 100% wish ow2 was more like ow1 and I’m on the same page but ow2 is a different game, marketed to different people it has and continues to makes decisions old ow1 players dislike in an attempt to make the game fresh and exciting to bring in new players.
My issue with your post is it’s all negative and how overwatch is worse… When really they’re positive things and I’d argue right now ow2 is in its best state ever but your still not happy, complaining about monitization, the state of the community. And yes imo that’s boomer mentally to say it used to be better and i want it to be like ot was without giving credit to anything new.
So feel free to think I’m tell you not to play the game when I’m really saying ow2 isn’t made to be like ow1 and if that’s what you want then the game isn’t for you. There is a difference.
I’ll also admit i have bias because i dislike people just being negative and crapping on something when it’s not all bad.
I’ll just add based on what… All stats we have shows it’s been climbing every season.

Game is far from dead, low wait times on all the many modes unless you are v highly ranked.
And bullying newcomers? Yeah right people are looking at your endorsement level one and focusing you because of that.
Yeah OW2 is worse now than actual Overwatch, that I can agree with.
I wouldn’t call 6-8 mins wait times for comp matches on bronze a low time. thats all.
It went crap. Every season in OW2 is nothing new to the table, no fixes to instant stomp in QP of the “so” called fixes they made to matchmaking, bad patches of different nerfs and buff.
Trash cheats detections that dont detect players at all. Blizzard have no clue how to make this game better.
