I hate it! literally the only mode that doesn’t have pharamercy, sojornmercy, annoying sombra and tracer, braindead spam from junkrat, that cancerous widow, the place where ana isn’t an unbearable monster
What’s so terrible about that is that dps are useless in role queue, if I want to play on dps I’ll just go to a role queue where I 100% have a tank and 100% have two sups.
I enjoy playing 3 tanks + 2 sups vs 3 tanks + 2 sups just like I enjoy play 1 tank + 2 dps + 2 sup, but this mode gives me a rest as a tank mainer.
Eh how f annoying it is, well do not touch open q or introduce a separate mode ranked with 3 tanks and 2 supports

Yeah, it makes absolutely no sense to remove 5v5 ROQ all of a sudden.
Just add another game mode, devs. Jesus Christ, how fn difficult is that???

yes, completely removed it and replaced with 6vs6 max 2 tanks

It’s been replaced (for now) with an almost-OQ 6v6 mode. (“Almost-OQ” because it’s OQ but with a two tank limit per team.)
I’m only two games in but having a blast so far. There was no reason for OQ to stay 5v5, imo, and the worst aspect of OQ modes was excessive tank stacking which is now solved. It’s great. Just, uh, don’t expect stellar matchmaking, at least right now.

It was the only mode where you could excel using common sense instead of these weird preconceived notions about what wins games.
And the fun was largely in being able to adapt accordingly to your unique team’s needs.
Now I gotta deal with toxic 6 v 6 elitists who can’t support.

Tankfests were as bad as any of those, and I’m glad that it can’t take the mode hostage. For now, anyway, although I hope this format permanently replaces 5v5 OQ modes from next season forwards.
Is the common sense you speak of to pick 3-4 tanks and 1-2 supports? Cuz the team with the least dps certainly has the advantage in that mode.
Yea not sure why they removed 5v5 open q, and 6v6 doesnt even have the perks so its really annoying and makes me want to quit

I wonder if they did this back in 2019, how things would have turned out. I’m sure that option was on the table when they discussed how to solve the OQ problems before they committed to Role Queue.

I have been playing OW since Ash release, open q with 3 tanks 2 supports is the place where i had the most fun and close games ever
On the contrary I will do everything I can to make Blizzard add open q separately and stop touching us, you have your overwatch we have ours

I didn’t have my Overwatch, though. In my opinion, RQ has led to a decline in game quality that hasn’t been fixed. This 6v6 Not OQ mode, though? This is my OW if matchmaking gets better.
I don’t keep track? If the enemy team has a great healer and/or a wicked zen and/or great DPS, 3 tanks aren’t really going to cut it.
If we have 3 tanks and no healer or a slow healer, it’s not going to cut it.
If we have 3 tanks that all go to separate parts of the map, it’s not going to cut it.
Like, bro, this is exactly what I’m talking about. People who have preconceived notions about what wins/loses matches don’t do good in open queue. And I love it. Those people have limited adaptability and play better under set roles. Leave those with great adaptability and match- and self-awareness play any role open queue.
There are times I play Lifeweaver (for example) just to control the flow of battle better because some people just don’t have enough awareness of what’s going on. And that’s okay - they are probably really good DPS that just need guidance but I can’t always correct gaps if I’m locked to a certain role.

This was the last mode that I was having fun in Overwatch, now it’s gone. Been playing since OW1 Season 1.
