The retribution comic had 4 characters in person or name that I want to talk about.
First is Gerard. God, am I glad to see more of him. Seeing him adds more to Widowmaker’s story and he seemed to have been close to Reyes so that is nice to expand. I do hope he’s dead but I do think there are openings to have him still alive in the present.
Antonio Bartalotti. This guy looks like a badass and as mentioned somewhere else, kinda looks like a human Winston xD He feels like the bad guy who sits back and sips wine while others do the dirty work and he counts money. I do like to believe that he will be tank. People seem to think he looks heavy in terms of fat but I thought he was looking pretty buff in that one panel.
The mysterious girl with the robotic arms. No idea what else to call her. I think to give her so many panels and especially to see where she got the materials for the bomb from within her arms implied that she wasn’t just a random girl to blow up the Blackwatch facility. It was clearly an early attempt on Gerard’s life and considering how much of a pain he was to Talon, she had to be a good operative. Hopefully we get more on her.
D. Rosenberg. The physician who took care of Gerard after the bombing. Reyes says that Ziegler told that Gerard would recover but it was Rosenberg’s name on the device. It was suspicious to me how his name was shown twice, it really didn’t had to be there tbh.

At first I thought the robot-arm lady was Widowmaker. The gauntlet on Widow’s arm for the Venom Mine seems pretty similar. But robot-arm has both forearms robotified, so I’m proven wrong. Definitely wonder what her deal is. Someone we know, someone we don’t? WHO?

You’re right that Widow doesn’t have any cybernetics. From the look of the lines on her other arm it appears that both limbs are segmented as well. I wonder if she’s actually omnic. I also wonder if she’s a future hero.

if the blast killed Gerard then are blizzard changing the lore or is the comic messing with us
it’s a little confusing but no, the blast was not in the hospital. It was a facility. The hospital is AFTER the blast.
-lore states Amiele killed her husband in his sleep… I don’t think blowing him up in a building matters if he’s asleep.

Mercy states, he will make a full recovery.
It is insinuated he survived the explosion, so as far as we know, he recovered.
The hospital scene, of which is set in Overwatch Headquarters, takes place after the explosion, which occurred at Blackwatch’s Headquarters.

it was just a bit confusing
indeed, but here’s what happens in timeline as relates to the comic:
Gabriel , Gerard and Mcree are walking through a blackwatch facility.
Robot lady plants the bomb, Walks out in front of mcree and Gabe. Gerard stays in the building .
BOOM
Gabe and Mcree go back in to save people, rescuing Gerard.
time passes
Gerard is now in hospital with Gabe sitting bedside, robot lady is long gone.
SO
The question still remains

She isn’t an established character though since nobody female in cast currently has their right arm mechanized.
No one we know yet.
All that is clear, is that Talon love themselves some cute female assassin’s with ponytails!

Obviously a Talon agent. The question is if the individual is just a throw-away or perhaps a figure of consequence. The way that Reyes gives her the eyeball as he goes past I’m wagering that we’ll see her in the future.

I dunno how related it is to widowmaker though, she doesn’t really look like her when I compare comic versions. But this is a very different art style as well.
I think I’m just gonna say she’s a talon agent for now with no particular consequence.

I would like to see this sort of thing being explored a little more. If you think about it, there is no reason for Omnics to be unable to have a chassis that is an imitation of human flesh when we know that natural-looking prosthetics exist (due to Doomfist having some). An incident involving an Omnic passing as a human doesn’t seem impossible to me. More complicated things like imitating facial expressions are not really an issue if the Omnic is posing as a lowly worker at which nobody looks twice.
