#retirebastion - no really

No it isn’t at all. You’re point was he ruins low ranks because they try to counter him with himself rather than learn a hero that easily counters him. Suggesting to remove him and having an argument for this being that of lower ranks can’t deal with him is exactly how this comes across.

Well if you delete bastion, those heroes will rise to prominence more because they will become the hero to swap to when you’re losing, this recreating the issue you are talking about with Bastion and thus you can then make the arguments when this inevitably happens to delete those heroes.

What a fantastic reply to objective evidence of you being wrong. Really helps push your initial argument.

No, I’m claiming he is an obstacle, intentional or not. There are always unintended obstacles when a game is made, it’s up to the community to overcome those obstacles unless the obstacle is so blatantly broken that devs need to address this. Bastion is not blatantly broken, otherwise he would have a high pickrate (asmuch as I hate using overbuff). But even in the lowest rank, Bronze, he is only picked over widow and doom. In every other rank in the game he is the least picked hero except GM where Sombra is picked even less (Atleast on PC).

The same can be said about LITERALLY every single other hero in the game that isn’t 1 dimensional like Widow. You learn to deal with Bastion, deal with a good Hog. A good Mei, Doomfist, Sombra, Echo, Phara, then you get combos like Phara-Mercy. The entire game is built entirely on learning heroes and learning to deal with them using other heroes. That is the fundamental design of the game, if they cannot be bothered to learn to counter Bastion, then even if they bothered to learn Bastion they would then not be bothered to learn to counter any other hero in the game and the game is clearly not for them.

The same way in CSGO, the AWP in lower ranks is the best thing since sliced bread. Because players haven’t learnt not to ego peak an awper, or peak without utility. Bastion is this games AWP.

Not that any of this matters because like I said (and you conveniently decided to flagrantly ignore), he is being reworked from the ground up in OW2.
