Resurrect must be removed

It’s always been an infuriating and ridiculous ability to instantly bring back anyone on the field with full hp and everything.

With 5v5 it gets that much more impactful. If they wanted any competitive integrity, this thing would’ve been removed ages ago.

I think it’s pretty balanced at the moment to be honest. Saying it’s instant is a bit of a stretch.

If we don’t take into account terrible Mercy players who suicide res, most resurrections are 100% safe and usually won’t be interrupted. Being able to bring back someone on a cooldown is terrible game design. Most of the time it’s free as well.

In 5v5 itll be way more risky to pull off… supports are going to be jumped on constantly in 5v5, so it sounds like your gripe with the risk-reward ratio is already being addressed :woman_shrugging:

I expect support queues to go up.
I don’t know all the changes off the top of my head, but I really hope healing is reduced and res cd is at least increased.

I have a better idea. Resurrect stays, but now when Mercy revives someone it kills her. This makes it much more situational.

It is infuriating but I am killing that mercy as she rezzes or close after. Or die trying >.>

So umm bring one back hopefully lose one again. Dependant on how quickly she flees, aways make attempt to track recently killed enemies when a mercy is around. And try to make use of the animations slow down to secure that kill. Which albeit is harder if she is doing it while ulting.

But honestly with 1 less tank there is 1 less deterrent getting to her. Having that 1 rez for your only tank will be much more impactful.

I think of it as a counter to Widow being able to take someone from 100-0 health. Though Mercy has to wait much longer, can’t pull them off as often, has to stick her neck out more, and be slowed in the process while she tries.

In 5v5, while the rez will mean more, it will be even more risky. Heck Sombra can hack and stop me while staying invis, which also marks me to the rest of her team for 8 secs…so even if I can pull off a rez, I’ll not survive it. And that’s just Sombra.

I’ve a feeling the number of times Mercy dies in a match will far outweigh the few resurrects she can pull off.

I despise 1 shots as well, I don’t think that having an outlandish answer to an outlandish oneshot is a good thing. Sojourn further increasing the amount of 1taps in the game is terrible, I don’t know what they were thinking. Widow will also dominate in 5v5, I can expect Hanzo to do so as well…

I hear ya to some degree. I’m not looking forward to all the fast deletes that will happen to the teams we’re trying to heal. Let alone when it happens to ourselves.

I was also thinking about map layout, with 1 tank and less shields the sightlines will be much more open which’ll kinda suck for us supports.

Resurrect would never have a use, then. Why bother to bring someone back if you’re gonna lack healing for a good 20 seconds.

They could just put all abilities on CD for the resurrected target. Problem solved.

It would mean you actually have to decide resurrect is a good trade off. Maybe you’re resurrecting Genji, because you can NanoBlade. But on the flip side Mercy dies.

I mean, it was talked about being removed because it felt nearly impossible for players to pull off in the 5v5 environment, not because it was too powerful.

Not to mention, Sombra not having to leave stealth to hack her out of res, makes it EXTREMELY easy for a Sombra player to just say, “lol no,” most times. You have multiple ways to stop it still, as well as Sombra being the absolute best way of doing so.

Even Fitzy cancelled multiple resses and the Mercy player flat out switched.

Your argument about removing res is hilariously the opposite of why people were asking for it to be removed in OW2 to begin with.

Bro, Overwatch has not once in its entire history been without Resurrect. I think you just don’t like this game.

I think mercy main don’t want this because they will not get free endorsement as before for rez bad position player.

Remove the burst damage, and you have a deal. But until then, it is her only way to deal with burst damage.

Or let her over heal.
