This idea came straight from Team Fortress 2 so you can shut up about it already.
Argument 1: “Why?”
This should be meant for people who think that certain viewmodels on heroes (ie: Junkrat, D.va, Wrecking ball, Orisa etc.) are excessive, and cover up precious visibility that can be game changing during a game, like seeing a widow behind your gun
Argument 2: “This could give an unfair advantage”
Not if it is an option in the actual overwatch menu rather than being a mod or .txt config file hidden somewhere.
Argument 3: “Overwatch gives characters personality through animations and viewmodels”
The idea of this being optional means that this shouldn’t be an issue.
I want discussion on this. This is something the game desperately needs. Even a viewmodel fov slider would be amazing!
This is one of those things where if they add the option then people will start to enable it because they feel they NEED to. As it is now, everyone has the same advantage or disadvantage making it equal for all.
That’s how I see it.
It’s similar to the game graphic settings. People claim all pros use lowest graphic settings for over all smoother gaming. At this point why even give the option for higher or epic settings? Why waste time making the game look better when everyone runs at lowest quality.
Next people will want a setting to only show default skins.
I completely agree. However, if they did do it, people like me would shut up.
I think only default skins should be allowed in competitive. They already (kinda) do this in the Overwatch League, they just use their own reskin of the defaults.
This was dismissed early on by Developers, during 2016 beta, where quake players asked for this, bobcycle adjustments, bigger FOV , picmip for map textures and the elimination of the model of the weapon+arm for example.
Its not going to happen: Decision based on design directions and requirements by the Devs.
They agreed to add a FoV slider from 90 to 103 and thats the max limit.
Can we at least have the option of scaling down visual effects in this game? It blinds me everytime a Moira spray her juice, throw her orbs ect. It would be a nice QoL change to help focus on what matters.
Why a problem ? Unreal Tournament 2003/2004 was also highly competitive and you could customize everything how you wanted, never seen a complaint about it. If you dont have any problems with your weaponmodel then use it and let others hide it, why do you care. Its not like you see people with invisible weapons running around, its only hidden for the player itself.
The weaponmodel isnt a problem for every hero and if you make it as a balance design choice to take away vision from some heroes thats sorry not good design. I only really have a problem with Pharahs weaponmodel and thats the only hero I really want to play, it sucks. But there is so much wrong with the game …
Leavers not punished
Cant choose which map I want to play, or at the very least which mode. Nope it must be random, 2CP sucks sorry …
Too much dmg., everything 1-2 shots you in the game as DPS (didnt want to play Instagib UT)
Game designed being behind shields (takes also alot of vision if everyone sits at one spot behind a shield). This also means if you dont have a shield or healer and the other team does you most likely automatically lose (would have been better without tanks and healers and give everyone defense moves)
Small maps, only 1 attack point. Even in Counter-Strike you had at least 2 points to attack. Games usually are way too short, you cant even try to change tactics midgame (mostly its too late)
CTF timelimit way to small. Games in which you are dominating or being dominated end very quick and even games end also quick because of timelimit (thanks for ending the fun games)
Total Mayhem. Shield spam with double HP takes the fun out of this mode
There is so much more, I think Iam done with this game. Blizzard doesnt care and I have to say, not looking forward for any Blizzard products anymore if thats how they handle their games today.
