Request for higher precision input for mouse sensitivity setting

It would be nice if we can have higher precision for the mouse sensitivity input box to help people sync their settings across multiple FPS titles or fine-tune their aim.

Tbh, going beyond 20 in the settings doesn’t even make sense for most people and most other good FPS titles out there support the full floating-point precision some way or the other for such purposes.

Would it be possible someday or this is something the dev team is opposed to?

Not at all, I don’t think mouse sensitivity matters on console, unless I am mistaken.

That works for only some cases and offers little precision to deal with. Besides, most people are happy with how their mouse feels in non gaming use.

I understand that you are trying to help. but where did you get that impression from?

I’m guessing you read through my first post too fast.

Sorry if I’m not clear enough, the precision here is describing the numbers beyond the decimal point. I’m coming from the perspective of hardcore FPS gamers that likes to match their sensitivity as much as they can without affecting their DPI while navigating through UI. However, the values provided in Overwatch is far from enough for that purpose.

Thank you for the input, but I firmly believe that even minor discrepancies shouldn’t be an issue that people should just “get over it”. Unless there is major hinderance involved, giving players a better QOL experience should be fine.

For the FOV issues, Overwatch has the same problem, but unless they are willing to increase the maximum which becomes another issue, I would think it’s something futile to suggest.

To go with this quoted bit, to keep the eDPI I use in hardware alone, I would need 8000 DPI, which makes navigating menus basically impossible.

Doesn’t affect me, but I don’t see why this should be such a struggle to convince people to implement. People who don’t use it won’t.

I think you are mistaking something here. Increasing the amount of decimal points beyond the dot has no effect on your settings if you are fine with it.

As I mentioned above, unless you do play multiple FPS titles and like to match them perfectly, it wouldn’t matter much to you. But that should not stop them from giving us a little QOL improvement.

Yes, I agree too that 3 decimal places (compared to the current 2) is a sweet spot. But I just think they might as well give people the full precision while they are at it. Plus, it shouldn’t be something that is too much of a hassle to implement.
