Request: disable console and PC crossplay

Hello! I’m sure this has been discussed before and pardon me if this is the wrong place to post!

I play Overwatch on Switch and notice that I’m often in a group against PC players. I’m not entirely certain that they’re PC, but I do see mouse movements that are way too fast - twitchy - to imagine they are happening on console.

Games like this are frustrating - an enemy widow on PC seems to always be able to aim more quickly, or swivel instantaneously, compared to my analog or gyro controller.

Is it possible to limit cross-play to only other console players?

I don’t know from direct experience whether or not overwatch has this, but I know of other console games that have a setting you can change to play strictly with other console players.

Particular to overwatch, though, you get a console pool if you play on console unless you’re partied with PC players, yes.

If you aren’t grouping with a PC player you aren’t being put in PC pools.

The Crossplay option you can disable on all consoles is purely console vs console, so XBL, PSN and Switch Online alone.
You might be running into PS players using Xims, but they aren’t really PC players.

More likely you’re just at a disadvantage due to Xbox/Sony consoles having 60/120fps but Switch limited to 30fps.

You won’t see PC players if you’re solo or grouped with other console friends, console-PC crossplay works on an invite only basis. In other words, you need to be friends with and accept a group invite from a PC player to ever actually see PC players/join the PC lobbies. Otherwise, like Lullabeii said, you will only be crossplaying versus different console platforms.

some players flick sticks

Got it - I didn’t realize that PC and console were generally separate, in OW1 I’d get a notification that I was queuing in the “console pool” but haven’t kept up with the times.

Any tips for a switch player to be able to react better? Is it just a matter of increasing gyro/stick sensitivity and practice?
