This is a request for Blizzard to add an option for controller thumb stick deadzones on PC and consoles versions of Overwatch
I play Overwatch a LOT on PC with a controller, as it feels the most comfortable and accommodating for me to play with. However, the controller I have currently, I’ve had for 1-2 years now, and the thumb sticks have begun to wear down and not stay upright as would be ideal. Already controllers are not ideal for aim, but I always managed to do fine with it. But now that the thumb sticks do not always return to a fully neutral position, I frequently experience my camera drifting in various directions. A deadzone slider would be immensely useful in Settings to adjust deadzone sizes, and in my situation, raise the size. This would help prevent view drifting for console player of PC players who use a controller for some weird reason, like myself. For players who would appreciate smaller, more precise movements, a deadzone slider to lower would be great too. Please Blizzard, this feature would be greatly appreciated!
Get a new controller then?
I’d rather not have to spend money on a new controller when the issue could be resolved by a feature many other games I play contain.
Seems more practical to just get a new one VS. having a game implement a feature.
My point is that not everyone can just purchase a new controller whenever a previous one breaks. A feature would be an aid for this, especially for people on console where a new controller can cost $50-60. A deadzone feature is not something new, and many, many games have it. I was even surprised to see that Overwatch didn’t have it at first. Hell, even Steam BPM has platform wide in depth controller configuration.
I completely agree.
I play Overwatch with gamepad on PC. Current deadzone is very big for me.
The game has existed for many years, and there are still no such settings. Why, then, is there any support for the gamepad?
(on ps4, the deadzone is much smaller and that’s good)
How do you necro a 2 year old post???
And what else to do if the problem is still relevant?
I dunno…
MAKE A NEW THREAD?
I’d understand if it were a month or two, hell even like 4 months, but 2 YEARS guy? C’mon.
so then why then is this NOT closed?
Because this thread doesn’t violate ToS.
However you’re violating ToS by necroposting.
It’s a 2 year old thread, a new thread is probably much better to get attention.
Got it, I’ll create a new one. But I will attach a link to this (the author painted everything well).
It’s not like he necroed a two year old troll thread from AriaRose. Give him a break, the issue raised in this thread is still present. If anything, reviving the old thread makes the topic more poignant by highlighting that it’s not some cockamamie idea that @Dualshock4 came up with while tripping on mesclun.
