Reporting/blocking does nothing

I report someone, block them for toxicity AND then they get teamed up with me the VERY next game. What a GD joke these devs are!!! Can’t do anything right STILL

no b/c you can have what, 3 at most on it?

Block is simply meant to block voice and chat from that player, it doesn’t actually block them from playing with you… that’s why there is an avoid player option coming soon ™.

Also if you report them at the end of a game and immediately re-que then Blizzard hasn’t even had time to review the report and even if they did, very rarely is that player going to get some kind of punishment that prevents them from playing.

Next time you get a match with a bad player don’t just throw up another que, wait like 5-7 minutes and then que.

you really missed the point of the post didn’t you smdh. we all know what block does genious

On a side not, this just happened 4 games in a row. First game I reported someone, teamed up with them again next game. Second game, same thing. Third game, and this is where we can see how the devs force us to lose, is I AGAIN get another guy who i just reported. I mean how jacked can this system be?! THIS JACKED!!!

After two months in ptr and another month in quick play OMEGALUL. These patches/fixes have become jokes.

Ya with a whopping max of 2 players and only for a week. I come across trolls almost daily in the gold tier. I had a match the other night where a kid picked Reinhardt and just kept screaming “REEEEEE” and charging/swinging his weapon and not once shielding.

I don’t want him only blocked for a week. I never want to see him again.

Blame the people you know are going to just put all the blame of a loss on their team and try to block literally everyone they don’t deem worthy of being their teammate.

wow…way to state the obvious. again another person missing the point on how the matchmaking system is complete garbage. thanks though for that enlightening reply smh

If it’s so obvious don’t act surprised that when you have a bad game with someone and then immediately que again that they’re on your team.

Do people really still not understand the impact of the avoid as player? and why it’s only 2 players? I thought for sure that people would have like… learned by now

Everyone else gets to avoid 2 players too yknow. That means a total of 12 players maximum are avoided on your team in every match. Now obviously there’s more than 12 trolls in the world, but minimizing things down to your own skill bracket? And minimizing things down to solely your current playsession within your skill bracket?

Assuming we’re all avoiding trolls like you are, then 12 is a pretty strong number for a singular playsession in a singular bracket.

And even if barely at all, this will discourage people to keep trolling by making queue times take forever for them.

This avoid feature is very well designed. it’s not meant to be a free means of controlling the matchmaker, it’s supposed to be a poison that weeds out toxicity and that’s exactly what it is

And it wont work because it only lasts a week.

I feel that you are wrong. If someone is being purely toxic or throwing they will get banned. I got a message yesterday about a player who got banned for throwing. Trust me, give it time and they will get banned.

It really won’t because you’ll only be able to avoid 2 at a time, and only for a week.

The devs are completely out of touch with their player base if they think you only encounter 2 toxic players/trolls/throwers/leavers/smurfs in a week.

2 is a paltry amount that’s nowhere near enough. It’s a drop in the toxic ocean that is Competitive Overwatch, especially on console.

It also needs to be a permanent avoid, not just for a week.

For whatever reason you avoid someone, you can almost be guaranteed that they’ll be doing that exact same thing a week later.

I play on Xbox, and since the reporting system was added on there I’ve reported many toxic players/trolls/throwers/leavers/cheaters/smurfs. Probably an average of 1-2 reports per Competitive match.

Know how many notifications I’ve had that action has been taken on one of my reports?

And, not surprisingly, I see the same toxic players/trolls/throwers/leavers/cheaters/smurfs in match after match.

The reporting system needs to be changed. An automated system is clearly not working.

Are you not aware that the reporting system is automated?

Players only get silenced/suspended once they receive a certain number of reports for a given infraction.

Blizzard don’t review reports until such time as a player logs a support ticket to appeal a silence/suspension.

(And if you’re on console, don’t bother logging a support ticket because Blizzard’s GMs will just tell you they cannot overturn silences or suspensions on console - that it’s apparently up to Microsoft/Sony to do which is something Microsoft & Sony deny saying it’s Blizzard’s game so their responsibility, and that the support section of the website is for PC only - console has no support).
