Reported for refusing to swap?

actually, no, it isnt

swapping is always an option, but never a requirement

i mean if you dont swap you cant even get value as a tank player. name it an unwritten rule. sadly

its not a rule at all, whether written or unwritten

I accept and understand that some players prefer that tank players swap, but that does not in turn mean it is a rule or a requirement

but you dont get to play if you dont swap off. i get what youre saying. your factually right. and i hate counterwatch more then any human on earth. they took my role[off tank] deleted it. and then punish me more by making main tank depressing asf to play. sorry smol rant XD

with apologies, this is entirely untrue

one can play a single character an entire match if one wishes to to so

one can play that single character in every match if one wishes to do so…this is often referred to as “one tricking” and the devs have confirmed multiple times that this is a perfectly legitimate way to play the game

this is entirely up to the individual to decide

again, switching/swapping is an option…it is never required, under any circumstances

zen ana sigma cass sombra. pls tell me how a not proficient casual player can be expected to even so much as land an ability before dying on doom? you go in get stunned hacked antid hindered and discorded and die instantly. i wouldn’t call that playing the game. but it seems your superiority complex wont be rested by me saying you’re correct. which you are. but no reason disregard the reality of the situation

First off, I dont have a superiority complex. What I have is knowledge of the rules of the game.

Second, I am entirely aware of the realities of the game

I will not be responding further to this side conversation

ok dude hope you have some good games :+1:

I feel for you wanting to play your favourite character, but your teammates want to win. If you’re losing every single fight because you’re on rein, then yeah sorry, you’re throwing.

Wrong. Players can pick whatever hero they want in quickplay even if they are bad at it. People like you are the problem. Quick play is casual mode.

Your analogy fails. We are not professionals being paid to play the game. This is for fun. I have no obligation to play the characters other teammates want me to play.

OW is a social experiment, and everyone’s the failure here (spoiler alert: including you).

If you’ve ever read those “Am I the A-Hole” Reddit posts, the community votes “yes”, “no”, or “everyone sucks”. And here, everyone sucks (spoiler alert again: including you).

OW is what happens when you put 10 people in a room, assign a task, split them into two groups, and let them choose tools that will help towards victory in that task. Some teammates may want to win by any means, some couldn’t care less, some pick the tool they love when another tool would be more helpful to their team.

At the end of the day, you are totally within your rights to play WHATEVER you want to in casual modes and you should not get reported for it. That’s the only way to get better at a hero, and that’s your right as a player. If you’re a Reinhardt one-trick and tomorrow Blizzard giga-buffed Reinhardt, you’d be in demand. So essentially, this whole argument is ridiculous because it all boils down to Blizzard’s rotating wheel of buffs/nerfs. When I play with my friends, we all play what we want; some swap, some don’t. It can be frustrating SOMETIMES (I’m not going to lie), but at the end of the day: fun and enjoyment > winning. If you’re having fun, ignore the haters. But don’t for one second pretend that it’s not a letdown to four other people that may want to win and now have an uphill battle because of your choices.

My post was more asking if it was a bannable offense, not asking if the community thinks it’s a “moral” thing to do. This is a video game, could care less as long as I know it’s not a bannable offense.

Oh yeah, my friend. Sorry, it’s definitely not. But unfortunately you’ll probably get some false reports against you from salty morons.

Regardless, no it’s definitely not. Enjoy who you enjoy!

Mute the chat & move on with your life. You want to play Rein (and still enjoy it despite the fact he sucks right now) then play Rein & just enjoy yourself instead of listen to the Toxic 12 year olds that think their amazing when their Dogsh!t.

Which you are yet to link to us.

DW they claim to know the rules of thr game and how everything is but is yet to actually show where it says these rules.

Again if theyre getting 0 Value, going negative KD, being an active hindrance for the rest of their team, makong their game experience worse etc, those players have the right to report for gameplay sabotage because that is what it is.

I’ll totally accept that argument when someone isn’t playing the worst tank in the game into an entire team of their hard counters, on that characters worst map.

He needs a full rework.

Should’ve Swapped then…

It depends , are you throwing my games in ranked by playing rein no matter how badly countered you re getting ?
Then yea , f u for even getting into ranked with the intention of being a 1 trick pony i hope you ll get perma banned as soon as possible :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Are you doing that outside of ranked for practice ? I dont care man , have fun :hugs:

i understand. but that’s a blizzard issue. and if he OTPs that hard, then he’ll just derank lower to where he won’t be throwing… it’ll take maybe 50 ruined matches but hey.

Requoting an auto moderated comment because apparently more of you need to hear this:

Yeah, no.

That’s like saying that someone who makes a mistake that loses a fight is “throwing.”

Throwing has meaning. Applying it to everything just makes it so

  • People feel justified flaming the “thrower”

  • People genuinely throw because someone is “throwing” on their team

  • Devalues reports for actual throwing

Etc.
