So recently i have picked up Illari and its gaven me a new lease to want to play this game. With all the imbalance and some really overpowered heros i stopped wanting to play. I was a tank main mainly on DVA but the problem with tank now they have so little impact and if you run Dva people just run 3 counters and then you cant do anything so i decided to switch to Illari and loving the character i have so much fun now playing the game and thinking strategically where to place my pylon and how i can best get picks and heal my team at the same time. But like usual instead of players looking at their own play they always blame the healer with the least heals. So my account has been silenced now and to be honest i don’t think i have said much to my team mates just because i dont want false reports but i have left games recently and they always say report our illari even tho i will have at least 10k heals 10k damage and 20 elims . it just feels so terrible when the community can false report people and you end up losing your account in the end. I watched FLATS report one of the best widow players i have ever seen and because it was FLATS the young kid who had been practicing widow for years lost his account. I feel like blizzard does not even look into these reports and the system is just automated would i be right in thinking this ?
Support is kind of like, FFXIV healers and need to be the best at everything, when i play illari i usually have lowest deaths, most elims, most heals… But then again i don’t limit my self to 1 support, for instance she is a waste of time to play if the enemy has a sombra.
The other question is do you micro manage your healing turret, i find people are less likely to shoot turret if you toss it at start or during team fight, if it is placed before stray bullets can queue where it is already placed and people are looking for it more during that time, if it is no longer needed at a spot do you destroy it so enemy can’t give you a 15 sec c/d on it… I will sometime break it early either to stop enemy from shooting at it, if if they are shooting at it i can get it back 2-3 secs faster and more when i needed it cause they were gonna destroy it anyways.
People suck. In season 1 I swapped off Ana to Brig into dive because I wasn’t able to sustain and keep myself alive at the same time, and I was told to kill myself, and the rest of my team was like “you are playing brig so it’s fair, go back to Ana” and so were the enemies.
This community has such strong toxic beliefs about hero picks in general that no other community I’ve been a part of has had. Like yeah the whole “Sombra players are x” sort of things other games have, but the extent that people throw tantrums over suboptimal picks is magnitudes worse than even League of Legends.
This is disgusting, and he should not be allowed to get away with it. He should be disowned by Blizzard
Yes try playing on australia server. The players in Australia are super toxic and have massive egos and a lot of the time just feed and then blame heals. I always wish i could play on american server because i probably wouldn’t be stuck in high gold then.
But yeh i have watched countless videos on youtube of people being mass reported just becauase they play a certain hero and its honestly sad that blizzard does not even look into these reports and for the most part now its just automated bans. It took me forever to level up my illari account and get into competitive and now i could face losing it all because of some toxic low life players its sad really and i can understand if it pushes people away from playing this game.
Tbh they’re likely going to rework the ban system… So I’d recommend staying away from comp if possible until then.
Or try open queue if you haven’t. Sometimes open queue can be better with that sort of thing.
Illari is kind of soft throwing in Comp, ngl. It’s understandable if your teammates are upset.
What rank are you? I play her in gold and it is fine but I’m pretty cautious and don’t play her like a 3rd DPS. A lot of people play her much more aggressively and that is great when it works but when it doesn’t teammates will get mad - even tho they might be at fault.
It is the same with Lucio. I’d love to play Reddit Lucio but in my experience it isn’t worth the hassle so I tend to stay with teammates even tho that isn’t the optimal way to play him.

Why play Illari when you can play Bap? Bap does everything Illari does, just better in every way. Better damage, better consistency, better consistent healing, better burst healing, better mobility, and a better DPS Ult, that doubles as a support Ult, unlike hers. Not to mention he has Immortality Field.
