Report system working!

Four days in a row I log in and four days in a row I receive a notification that a recent report resulted in action taken. This is also true of last season.

I throw out many reports to people that are toxic, one-trick ponies with their hero selections and refuse to work with the team, or someone who picks a bad hero just to spite everyone else.

Keep up the good work Blizz.

Well you can’t get banned for one tricking a hero so it won’t be that.

For onetricking and poor teamwork? absolutely you can. If the other team has a winston and genji, we are losing, and youre stuck on widow, you bet youre getting a report from me. You’re countered, we are losing, and youre refusing to switch off to counter them.

Reporting somebody 1 tricking widow into a genji and winston is petty my dude and is no way throwing. The proper response is to help counter dive those 2 heroes and assist the widow IMO. If assisted correctly those 2 enemies would be dead and you can then proceed with winning the rest of the team fight.

No, you can’t. It’s been confirmed on multiple occasions by developers that one tricking is not reportable.

They’re even implementing a new system that will determine whether you’re performing bad or throwing, so your one trick reports will be meaningless.

So youre telling me that a guy who turns off voice, sticks with one hero that is being hard countered whilst the team is losing is not to be considering throwing, trolling, or poor teamwork and thus is not reportable? I will continue to report these people until Blizzard outright tells ME not to.

Because this is a team “chess” game of counters and if that person is not working around his counters, the team has a higher chance of losing. And then a lot of the people that are victim to this teammate come here, complain about it and you people tell him “git gud” or “system working as intended, SR system is fine it has to be YOU”.

So, yeah…until Im told to stop reporting people for crap teamwork like that, I’ll continue to do so. Im seeing results in my reports.

With that said, Im not reporting someone for simply playing hanzo/widow/sym/sombra. Other factors need to line up.

Here is a forum post that contains developers telling everyone, including you, that one tricking is not reportable.

He is using the word ‘ban’. I am not. Im simply reporting. What blizzard decides is up to them. I can freely report all I want and if they deem only one person out of 10 that I report for ‘one tricking’ should receive action, then thats time well spent for me.

There are other actions such as warnings and suspensions that I don’t think he mentions.

I’ll still continue to report and let Blizz decide if that person was trying his/her best to win. Again, Im getting daily notifications that my reports resulted in action. 9/10 of them relate to this very topic. Something is happening.

You deserve to get reported by them for abusing the report system.

There is no rule on what hero you HAVE to play or not play. There is nothing in the ToS that says you have to switch heroes. Just because they aren’t playing how you want them too doesn’t mean they are breaking any rules.

False report is bannable.

Here’s the thing. NEITHER one-tricking nor refusal to communicate through voice or turning off the in-game chat box is an actionable offense. The system will AUTOMATICALLY suspend people with high-report volume. These players are given chances to appeal. While you do not, MANY people will automatically report one-tricks or people not in voice before the gate even opens. If a match goes poorly, people will openly ask for all 11 other players to report said individuals. What you are doing is TECHNICALLY false reporting. You’re free to do what you want, but the reason this happens is the community’s general hatred for one-tricks, not that it is a justified offense. The real kicker, is TRUE throwing doesn’t get picked up by this horrendous system. You could very easily play Roadhog and right-click at close range while entirely missing every whole hog at the appropriate distance. Yet more rage is induced from the Hanzo/Widow/Sym/Sombra/Torb/Bastion trying their hardest to win the game with the heroes they enjoy than the Roadhog player somewhat subtly tossing the game.

The system is not working. When you can be banned for literally anything you cannot say it is working. Reports are not checked. The whole system is automated. Oh you are not filling report you are not playing the exact hero I want you to report you said it may be a good idea to switch heroes report. You hurt my feelings report. System just makes the game way more toxic but gives you those messages to make you feel like you helped save the world from that meany who said maybe you should pick something else.

Oh you sweet summer child…
One tricking is officially unreportable… but Blizzard will upheld any suspension that comes from the automatic ban.

New system sounds intriguing.

Had 3 blatant throwers. They were inactive for 80% of match, then sprung into action and their Genji (down 800 Sr in 4 days) gets a sick dragon blade POTG.

Maybe they think there is already thrower detection in place and this is their way to not appear to be totally throwing.

Pretty sure Blizz doesn’t keep Voice Chat / Replay.
They’re left with Chat logs and maybe end of the game stats.

Yeah, they got a few kills, but did almost nothing for 80% of the game. Just f ing triggered me.

I report very rarely as I only report people that either causes the team or another person to tilt by how they act in chat, or if someone is blatantly feeding and is not listening to calls to fall back (potential intentional game throwing). I make sure to write in why I am reporting them as well.

Every time I report I always see a notification afterwards that action was taken. That is enough for me to know that the indeviduals I am reporting are truly being bad actors towards the community at large. However I don’t appreciate people who use the reporting system for reporting someonr because they are tilted at them. It only serves to make the reporting system less effective.

I report alot and most of the people I report have had actions taken against them.

While one tricking itself is not an offense, the moment they say in any way if they are trolling or throwing - it is. Not all do but many do. I am a widow main and very rarely will I take her for a stroll in Comp unless we have a carry, because it does not help win unless you headshot 95% of your shots.
