Report Confirmation

I still have yet to ever get a notification that action was taken on a report. I know that it takes a certain number before a person even looks at it, but this is insane. And if a person gets reported for different things does that change the number requirement?

For example: If a teammate starts just walking around the map when you start losing, is that inactivity or gameplay sabotage?

Is anyone else in the same boat? I would atleast like to see a report action message once. Hopefully the report system is getting an actual boost in Overwatch 2.

I haven’t seen a report notification in months. So I’ve pretty much given up on reporting recently lol. I used to get them quite often but for some reason I don’t anymore. Maybe it’s a bug, who knows.

lol who cares?

It’s kinda weird to hang around worrying about whether or not action was taken. If you reported, then you did your part… best to move on and not worry about them anymore.

You’re not the police or their parents so don’t waste your valuable time/energy letting them live rent free in your head like that.

This is the issue and the whole reason confirmation was given in the first place. It’s not them living “rent free” in my head, it’s just that it would be nice to know if the report function does it’s job. Otherwise it should be removed.

I see them nearly every time I log in. :face_with_monocle:

I get notification only for very blatant cases. I am guessing a lot more people are just bothering to report those.

That makes sense. I guess I’m just unlucky then. Hard to get more blatant than a support who just sits in spawn

From what I remember the only reason a confirmation screen was implemented was because players kept insisting on one so they could feel good knowing that punishment was handed out.

As it stands, that “confirmation screen” could be nothing more than a simple empty message, a placebo at best meant to placate anyone who has sent a report lol

It’d be like if my sibling tattled on me, then followed my mom around the rest of the day going “are you going to do anything? are you going to punish them? I tattled so something should be done!”

I’m not minimizing your complaints, just saying that a confirmation screen isn’t a very accurate representation of whether or not the report system “does it’s job”, so following that logic, reporting might not even be worth your time :man_shrugging:

But if they only do that for one game they can only at most get 11 reports which isn’t enough.

You can try asking people to repot in chat. Sometimes they don’t pay attention and are more willing to report when they seen when that is exactly the case.

I do, but apparently 11 reports isn’t even enough. So that would explain why Gameplay Sabotage and Inactivity don’t get looked at
