Report bullying should be bannable

Asking other players in the game to report someone abuses the way the algorithm works. It is 100% detectable when done in chat (I’ll write you an algorithm to do it if you pay me), and should resort in an account ban and the abuser’s reports never counting again.

Thankfully reports do not stack in a single game so asking others to report someone is pointless.

Reports do not stack from a SINGLE PLAYER in a single game. They most DEFINITELY stack from different players and are even more impactful since it is a rate of reports that triggers account action. 11 reports in a single game often results in immediate suspension.

But like… HOW can you get all other players in the game to report 1 person unless they’re clearly doing something wrong?

Multiple reports regardless of who they come from do not stack from a single match.

No that is false, no matter how many times you get reported in a game it will still only count as one.

That is good to know. Thank you.

I would like to stress the fact that Blizzard SHOULD take a closer look at INSTIGATORS as well as content of what is SAID during matches. Somethings that are said, should be INSTA BANS. Especially DEATH THREATS.

  • I get 1-2 death threats every 6 months in this game.
  • I set S* (redacted) harassed about 3-4 times PER MONTH in this game.
  • I get about 4-6 caustic players per week that are so bad. I am surprised they are even allowed to have chat privileges.
  • 9 - 11am and 12am- 1:30 am DAILY are the most EXTREMELY toxic folks.
  • Toxic Disruptive spectators are a nightly 12am issue.
  • about 6-8 matches per day with an AIM BOT user.
  • 10-12 “movement-manipulation” Cheaters per day.

False reporting doesn’t exist though.
If someone plays bad it’s gameplay sabotage. If someone is repeatedly dying and not switching it’s int feeding which is reportable. I report probably up to 10 people a day for this.

Blizzard is working on new methods to identify violent behavior like that. However, I will note if any player feels they have a legitimate real-life threat made upon them, I would then recommend to escalate the matter to a web ticket with Blizzard Customer Service. Use the World of Warcraft Real-Life Threat option as this is a high-priority channel. Specify in the form the threat is for Overwatch. ONLY use if you have reason that someone is making a real-life threat upon you and provide as MANY details as possible.

Examples of legitimate real-life threat:

  • Exposure of your personal information (real name, address, etc) in text or voice chat (also known as “doxxing”)
  • Detailed description of a threat of violence with personally-identifiable elements
  • Continued violent harassment observed outside of the game, including on social media

Okay, Thank you! That is good to hear!

I think it’s pretty reasonable to ask everyone in the server to report an aimbot or the guy who claims he’s doing the “no left click” challenge in competitive

You are a terrible person. I hope you get false reported just like you do to others.

This has never bothered me, because I’m almost never the target of this.

The fact that you are bothered by it seems a little SUS to me.

I don’t see a problem of letting others know if a player is doing reportable activity personally.

That’s a bit surprising to me. I would certainly value them lower, and maybe not count them for people queued up together… but overall reports should certainly factor into any reasonable system.

To be honest, i reported behavior like this in starcraft 2 years ago and your only taking this seriously now shows how much of joke it is.

its so much a joke that your company legit is falling apart from the top down. Warned this would happen and now its happening, best joke in history.

It’s considered abusive chat so yeah… it is bannable

Read the entire post please. There is a very short limit on title length. It should be automated and immediate. It should also explicitly be in the rules.

I mean… So should racist stuff, but it isn’t because automatic immediate bans are a pretty awful idea.

It’s not. False reporting is a myth. It simply does not exist. People don’t get reported enough in fact. You’re sabotaging my fun.

People say I am playing bad when I can blind them with all of my gold medals and I died about as many times as they got a medal of any rarity. What more could I possibly do to appease those worms?
