Replay Viewer App for Mobile

I enjoy watching my games back, and I would love the ability to access my replays on my phone. In its current form, I know that isn’t feasible, but if they were able to do something as simple as exporting your perspective as an mp4 or something so you could watch it like a VOD, that would be amazing.

Edit: or just stream one perspective at a time in video format to the phone

Too bad that there aren’t any free programs that allows you to record your gameplay, save them to hard drive and upload them to your preferred online storage.

I think it would be a fantastic idea… Why not just Port overwatch over to mobile… New phones like the iPhone 12 can certainly handle the game at 60 FPS and 1080 p… However I also believe that The export function could also be added to the game as suggested… Not everyone has sufficiently good hardware to be able to record at a good frame rate because the recording affects the frame rate… It would be fantastic if we could export from the point of view of a chosen player… This would also allow you to export into extremely high quality 4K video which You would not have been able to handle otherwise…As it is right now, if I want to record at a smooth 60 frames per second I have to go through quite a long and labourious process… First I have to record at half speed and then I have to play the recorded file back at double speed in VLC player… Like this example…

Not everyone’s computer is capable of recording gameplay while running Overwatch and maintaining any semblance of quality. I am one of those people. Also, that process you described has quite a few annoying steps.

Overwatch already catalogs our last 10 games. My suggestion is more like a way to open an app, select one of those last 10 matches, and have it stream one player’s point of view of my choosing in a video format to my phone.

Yeah I’ve found myself wishing I could go to my Blizzard profile and see/play the same games my current Replay has.

This wouldn’t work- replays aren’t videos, it’s your pc playing the game for you with every tick of the game having been prerecorded. It’s still doing all the physics calculations on the decorations and rendering everything with your PC.
If your phone could playback a replay, your phone would also be powerful enough to play overwatch and its… not. Too much for a phone.
The only way this would work is if Overwatch had servers on hand that you could request to pull up one of your replays, start the process of playing it, and then stream the video for you to watch on your phone. This would be very costly for them and its not a worthwhile investment.
