Replacing ''gg ez'' with simply ''gg''

Hey everyone!

Recently, I have seen a lot of people saying gg ez in chat after winning. We all know this is one of the most toxic thing to say in chat. blah blah blah.

I am an experienced player, in the sense that I have been playing for a long time. I can recognize a gg ez every time I see his derivatives implemented by Blizzard. Since then, I turned the filter off.

My point is that you (as a player) cannot prevent someone from saying gg ez, because you never know. So, I think Blizzard should put on a system that every time you say ‘‘gg ez’’, it is simply replaced with a classic, non-toxic ‘‘gg’’.
This would work with every word that looks like ‘‘easy’’
Ex: Easy, easy, EZ, ez, gg ez, ggez…

There is nothing more tilting in a video game to have played really well but lose, and having someone say ‘‘gg ez’’ afterwards.

I am almost at the point where I mute every single possible way of receiving toxicity. This means muting match chat, muting team chat, and muting team voice chat. I won’t leave voice chat, simply mute it because I need to shotcall still. I know this is dumb, but this is the only way to evade toxicity in a Overwatch game.

I hope this ‘‘SAVE US’’ message gets somewhere.

I guess I’ll just play on and hope for the best.

As long as we get an option to keep the demeaning derivatives, because I find them really funny.

People still get around the current filter thing they added, which i’m sure was just for giggles.

I say anyone that types “gg ez” or any method to get around it loses 1 endorsement the first time, then 2, then 4, then 8 and so on. If it gets up 128+ then they get chat silenced for 6 hours.

If only. The GGEZ macro replacement thing they did was stupid.

TBH, when someone types that in, they should instantly silence that person for 5 games and increment it like they do abusive chat reports.

In the meantime, report it. Abusive chat is the only thing they even act on anyway, so report it every time. Nothing is more frustrating to poop disturbers like those than to be restricted so they can’t do what they want. I also block them so they can’t get me next time.

This wouldn’t even be an issue, but likely you’ve just played a game that made you frustrated by all the other issues that are broken in the game, like matchmaking, all the CC, and the problems with the way they do SR.

If you teabag more than one it’s not classy.

how ‘gg’ can be even remotley toxic?
its not EZ gg… or somethin

if game was close i usually type in ‘ty gg’ - i guess this is best way to pay respects for your opponents team when they perform, but lost

When someone goes out of their way to go gg ez and bypass the filter at the end of the match, I find it more pathetic than anything and my personal opinion of that person’s skill drops tremendously.

Are you seriously letting gg ez get to you? You’re just feeding the trolls that way.

M8 tilting people is a strategy since online gaming was introduced i think its even used in real sports so if you are weak to that you are exploitable in my eyes.

Just let the players choose what words to fliter out of chat.
Then people who don’t like certain phrases can avoid them while others who don’t care can continue to not care.
Plus you can use it for other words or phrases you don’t like besides just ggez.

I’m not offended by it, but like wiping snot on your pants doing more than one teabah isn’t classy.

keep in mind your reaction to those words is purely your own interpretation. Offense is taken not given. Remembering the many tools available to you to limit or remove what you take offense too. I would argue most people really don’t care and to try and push your feelings on to others and cater the game to how you perceive it should be censored is a step to far. Remember they’re only words this is only a game

report abusive chat… as its poor sportsmanship and just lowlives trying to start a fight…

Typically there just bad players who got fed a pitty win by getting matched with players who carried them, because there win rate was starting to creep way to far below 50%

Having gg ez replaced by silly phrases was funny at first but now it just annoys be because I know what they really said. If it was just changed to gg, however, I would never know. I like your idea.

some people even use “GG” to try and be toxic in a subtle way. Context and all it could easily double for “get good” too. people take advantage of the fact people just always assume its “Good game”… and because people are to lazy to type it out… and/or people are blind to context… well they get away with it
“GG EZ” is probably the most blatant of examples of this. think about it does “good game, easy” make any sence? “Get good, to easy” sure does make a lot more sense here doesnt it?

Perspective: “man this hero is really easy”

Reality: “man this hero is really gg”
