Replace "Thanks" (With "Fall Back"?)

No one is THAT thankful, and most of the time it’s used by toxic played to annoy their teammates, teammates who they need not to aggravate so it doesn’t interfere with performance causing that team to lose!

So… how about we get the option to replace commands with other ones like "Fall Back".

Fall back would be much more helpful than Thanks, yes we have “group up” but thats more of a signal to wait for the rest of the team to respawn. Sometimes players aren’t aware their support is gone so signaling to them to get out of there is very helpful.

I’m on console, we don’t have a chat box and players often don’t communicate or isn’t good/comfortable doing so. In light of that more communication options would be helpful for the entire community imo.

Devs, If you can do that/add additional communication options then in the words of Toxic Sym angry that we got rolled the first point and decided to jump off the map on purpose…

I say “thanks” all the time and mean it, I like the fact that I can show my team mates some quick appreciation.

I’m surprised there’s no way to change the chat wheel though, especially for console. At least you can bind keys on PC.

I think it’s fine. Group up does work for fall back, but players need to learn how to be aware of their surroundings. If players don’t respond to voice chat or group up, then just type it in chat and hope they read.

I always show some appreciation for my healers by saying “thank you” I don’t see why it should be removed

Sure but “Fall Back” sends a more distinct message, meaning stop the attack or whatever, and try to come back to your team.

Group up doesn’t really say you have no support, it says come together at That players specific location. I think there is room for “Fall Back”.

‘‘Acknowledged’’ sort of fulfills that purpose

“Acknowledged” is a confirm/response, more so says that they heard the command and will adhere, but adhere to what? One says full retreat (fall back) the other says regroup (group up).

Imagine a Mercy rezzes the OP and instead of “Thanks” they say “Fall back”

Lol to be fair when I get rez’d by a Mercy I usually say thank you so it’s not all bad, but I would still like to have the option to change a command.

You really think random teammates in quickplay or comp are going to fall back when someone says to?

As good as an idea more commands that are more in-battle focused I just see no reason to because I already know that about 75% of people are just going to ignore them.

I actually use thanks all the time to say thanks to my teammates for timely heals or saving my bacon against an enemy I didn’t see or notice. Mei walls that block high noon or mechs, sniper headshots that kill the flanker sneaking up on me, bubbles that save me when I’m tagged by a pulse bomb or sleep dart. I’m very very thankful to my teammates for protecting my foolish booty.

I use thanks if a team mate assists in getting a kill where I would have died by myself. (my aim is bad, this is relatively common)

I use it if I get heals when I’m at sub 50% hp. (healers in mystery heroes are very hit or miss.)

It’s a nice emote to have, because I’d rather not need to type that all the time.
