I think it helps reinforce that leaving a game is never a valid option, only something you do in an emergency. In which case, you’d want to close the whole thing, right?
It can be left in for custom games and the training range.

What about for consoles?
I am pretty sure Paladin’s does not even give you the option to leave, at least not in the menus. You have to just disconnect or close it.

The first time you queue up each season needs a popup that you agree to. It clearly states that leaving an match in any way including lose of Internet will result in losing SR and a temp suspension.

That can even be disabled. Either way there is no way to stop people from leaving.
IMO, leave it as is and make it detect if people use the “leave game” and after so many times they get perma banned from comp.
I only agree to have this as an option in Comp. I’d much rather people have the option to leave than throw the game and/or purposefully try to ruin it for everyone else via spamming/Afk-ing/insulting/etc. Forcing people to stay in QP games where they are having such a poor time breeds toxicity that carries into other games and makes people just stop playing the game altogether which is also bad. It’s better to let people leave as soon as they can/want and let someone else in who might do better than them.

What about arcade though it’d suck if you had to quit to the desktop every time you backed out of one on the player created part.

you can’t leave game in HOTS without closing it. And it will try to reconnect you back when you open it again

Or just don’t there already is an exit to desktop. And besides, sometimes I bot burger and hit leave game instead of social, no toxicity and I try to get back in immediately.
Upgrade it to “Reformat C:” and you have my vote.

But we can do that with the Home button on the controller.
Yeah and we can alt-tab or alt-f4, the whole point of this is that the only option to leave is to close the game entirely.
To quote OP:
If someone is intent on leaving the match\game they’ll do just that…leave button or not.

It’s valid option. I don’t want to get banned trying to prove to people that black is black, since they already know it, but don’t really care.
No, I want to leave game and try to get matched with team that is not Widow, Hanzo, Mcree, Doomfist, Tracer/Genji.
