Repeated usernames

Something I’ve been thinking for a while, why Blizzard allows repeated usernames in OW? Nothing AGAINST it, just saying, but its rather… odd.

Because if it is your username… You probably want to use it?

yes, but isn’t it weird to allow multiple people to have the same username? Thats what strikes as odd to me.

If only you knew how many Player I encounter.

That’s because if you have an “illegal” name it gets set to player

I had an account named “torbscummies” that I bought after his rework, they gave me a free reset to change it too, made it nerfgoats instead

Every battletag is unique due to the code at the end.

I hate games that force me to name myself Name1249582 just because I like the name I use and someone else has it

Plus they do have the # at the end of a player name, it just doesn’t show up in game.

When I think about how long I have to search for a good psn name I‘m pretty happy about the system Blizzard has.
