Rendering device lost

I’ve been getting this error almost any time I play OW for more than a minute. Sometimes it takes an hour, other times only 10 minutes for the game to freeze and tell me my rendering device has been lost. I’ve never encountered this error before this new patch. It happens EXTREMELY often with the workshop. I work in there all the time and OW shuts down unbelievably often when I use it. Again, this issue has never appeared before this patch; is it because of the Workshop? I think it is something else because it has happened in Arcade and during one Competitive Queue in a group.

You may want to post a DXDiag so a Blizzard representative or an MVP can troubleshoot your system.

Also be sure to work through this troubleshooting as well, if you have not already:

are you using Nvidia RTX graphics card?

I use bootcamp on my Macbook to access Overwatch. I believe the Macbook’s graphics card is Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650. I understand that Macs aren’t the absolute pinnacle of PC gaming, but I’ve never experienced crashes like this before, and they were never this frequent. Usually my game runs between 30-60 fps, depending on whether I’m doing modes like No Limits, Comp, Chill Don’t Kill, etc., and it runs quite well when I am using the workshop.

You’ll probably find more help on a site like Reddit, since Blizzard doesn’t officially support Overwatch on Mac.

Maybe it can be relate with your cooling, macbook tend to run hot, and hardwere become unstable when its hot, when dust builds up inside, it can get even hotter.
