Removing infinite stealth doesn't really do much

At best your making her more inconsistent, on a hero that’s already not doing to well.

As it doesn’t stop her from flanking, or catching you off-guard while your committed into something else.

She isn’t ever going to set up while visible or directly in your LOS. And many good sombra’s in a flank scenario leave stealth anyway to engage in combat without the .25 second animation she has to sit through to get out of it.

This ultimately isn’t changing why people don’t like engaging with her.

A better solution would be simply adding more counterplay through already existing mechanics.

For example ye old sombra couldn’t get a hack off while turrets were around in the back line or not already pre-occupied. Letting them target her while revealed be it by hacking or through tools like widow’s or hanzo’s wall hacks.

Creating a safe-ish space that requires team play or ult investment on sombra’s end to get around such.

And maybe while at it give the turret heroes a good look over, and maybe make a new one a bit more tailored made for such.

Then balance sombra as need be.

I wish people unified against Virus. But all the skill issue cats want to defend that Rubixian Horror tooth and nail and the other skill issue crowd cry about her identity. In all this noise, they will yet again fail to address anything relevant. Yay!

People don’t like sombra because she’s not fun to play against. Counterplay doesn’t matter when people don’t find invis a fun mechanic to play into

Removing infinite invis would go a long way to making sombra more fun to play into

So I would recommend re-reading the first sentence of the post if you don’t mind.

Because infinite stealth doesn’t change that interaction. It just makes her less consistent.

I think the real reason people don’t like Sombra is simple:

She’s a bully.

She capitalizes on 1v1, typically when someone is coming back from spawn, and basically removes their ability to play the game, if the player operating her is worth their salt.

There is no ‘Fair factor’ here, and there’s no real counterplay. You’re automatically starting off at a disadvantage in a 1v1. It’s not fun.

There is no amount of ‘Git Gud’ that can combat that initial hack/virus/half a magazine combo as any squishy character. You’re basically deleted before you even know what hit you.

I wouldn’t mind it if that mechanic was removed from the game entirely. Make hack/virus combo do something other than turn your character into an NPC.

Even as a Sombra player I admit virus is the root of most of her problems, both in terms of balance and viability.

dps dont mind sombra tanks dont mind sombra, only support mains cry about sombra and whats funny is they dont cry about how much dmg supports do, nonnono leave them to be able to duel dps consistently but oh no sombra exists how evil. ill say sombra is annoying when i see baptiste ana kiriko and illari damage get nerfed and put in line as supports and not duelists with dmg

This is just my opinion, but i think my biggest issue with sombra is her Translocator.

For some refrence lets look at tracer a hero who is know for her hyper mobility.

Tracer Can blink 7.5m every 3 seconds or 2.5mps

Sombra can translocate 18m every 5 seconds or 3.6mps

Now add on that translocate can be thrown in a any direction including Up and down, and it also grants invlun and self cleanse and also makes her go invisible faster.

Like there are alot of ways to deal with her other abilites, like hack can be really annoying but at least I can deal with it by damaging or blocking it.

But her translocator is alot harder to deal with and just makes her other aspects feel worse.

For example: Lets say a sombra tries to dive you as support, she goes in for the hack/virus, but you manage to outplay her, only for her to just yeet her translocator to escape. Doesnt feel fun when that happens.

I dont know how to fix translocator, but that is what I personally find most annoying about here

So sombra has a lot of tells to let you know when she is doing things. Including leaving stealth and hacking.

And requires layers of setup that can be disrupted or dodge, or ignored. A lot of the time just having a better gun pointed at her, is enough win the engagement.

And unless her aim and positioning is god teir like some top 500 tracer. Her TTK ends being longer then what hack holds down for.

Especially if your on a hero like torb or ball, that his basically given free warning to press the double health button before hack finalizes. While mei almost always can just ice block / cleanse and reset the fight in her favor, beacuse it will just take to long for sombra to kill in that scenario.

Their is plenty of room for counter play / picks. And the reason why I want to add more of them that are easy to use with some for fought.

Like as much as people don’t want to here it, ya it is kind of a get - gud scenario were you should be paying attention when in a scenario where you know sombra exists and might be attempting to 1v1 / spawn camp you.

The translocator reactivates invisibility and cleanses at the same time… adding a longer delay effect to make post-translocation chases more viable would make it less broken.

It has a huge visual tell for where she going to end up. And damage does break stealth. So in many cases just shooting at the exit point to keep from leaving or living.

It makes Sombra even more useless, which is the goal because I would rather never seen another Sombra player again in my entire life, regardless what they do with her kit.

It will rise skil level and kids return to solder

I mean if it’s an issue with inexperienced players, you a supposedly experienced player shouldn’t have issues with her being played by such.

isnt that the same as kiriko teleport? so we should do that to kiriko too?

This is hero shooter, when i main Juno no matter how many thousands hours im in this game, sombra can erase me just because , well mathematics

Not sure if Kiri’s teleport applies a cleanse, but it certainly doesn’t make her go invis.

But that’s how flankers work. They’re designed to be able to get in get a kill and get out. If you remove their got out card then theyr no longer flankers. Now they’re just designed to go into a backline and trade. Which isn’t how flankers should be working.

Oh juno? just stand around an LOS break or a bit of highground, and just double jump or turn a corner pre-hack finalizing. Or set up speed-ring ~ dash around such.

average reaction time is .25 seconds to complete a task, hack take .65.

You have plenty of time to get you in a good spot before she set up and hit you with the virus.

Like this is or at least “was” standard play for years up against her, not sure why people suddenly forget they can do that.
