I genuinely can’t believe people can actually defend a system that makes players wait 1h+ to find a match. After reading the entire thread there’s one thing that’s become clear to me: this terrible matchmaking update has no negative impact only on trolls who have zero friends to play with and are toxic beyond regard in team-centric games

For the first time in a long time, I’m loving the match play. It’s like 80% quality.
I’m also noticing less toxic groups.
I dunno man, maybe I’m getting lucky, also this is season start.

Fix:
Expand your group to 6-7 players. I’m sure there are solo/duo players looking for groups.
Play QP if one is missing

To be honest, I think you are a big whiner.
I came back to play this seasons so I do not have to deal with 5 stacks when I solo queue into the game in my division, and get curb stomped each match.
Competitive this season has been more balanced with few ROFL Stomp matches. I have only ran into 1 match so far this season where I have to deal with a cheater (was a easy to notice trigger bot) and have not seen a smurf yet.
So I would like to say this too the original poster your post while may be valid to you, would negatively affect solo queuers who are reveling this season with a balanced match making system for once.
Blizzard did a good job for once.

Game was balanced enough for me prior to this season and had pretty decent queue times. Now the match quality is about the same, if not worse, and we have 10-15 minute queues.

Yeah no. Enjoy longer queues. Blizzard already said, in favor for everyone this system will remain.

These queue times are just not fun. I only play on the weekend and having to wait 20 min per match is an absolute waste of my time.

For us with actual social circles its kind of a big deal not being able to play with our friends. But I clearly see why this isnt affecting u. Not to mention it seems you got all the time in the world to respond to everyone under this thread.

This Sue person is likely just trolling. They know very well this update was bad for the community. They respond on all narrow/wide threads with really low quality comments. I am starting to think that they work in some capacity for blizzard or a rival game that is trying to poison the OW community in their own small little way.

I’m in a duo in queue rn and it’s a wide match. took 10 mins to find a game, that we absolutely rolled. And I am not that far apart in rank - Gold 5 Support + “Bronze 1 predicted” (they haven’t done placements) after the first game. Shouldn’t take 10 minutes at the most populous ranks in the game

The brilliant minds at OW are more concerned with whether a character is gay or lesbian than with improving the game. You say it very well, this new game mode is the worst thing that has happened to the game. I don’t want to play competitive alone, because the people who play are horrible and the game goes out of its way to put in horrible people who don’t change their character, who don’t do anything when they are countered.
The worst thing that happened to us is that a Gold friend, us Silver, up a small % and our Gold friend did not up at all in competitive. But, we lost and it took 20% to all team, this is totally horrible, useless and makes you want to send this damn game to hell.
