What is this nonsensical statement even supposed to mean?
Ever heard of being concise and to the point?
What is this nonsensical statement even supposed to mean?
Ever heard of being concise and to the point?
Sure thing.
Player says" things are facts because they say so."
“Ask for data from Player”.
“Player has no data to respond with”
That sidestepped the question and relates to the bigger question of the thread how?
We can all appriciate a good troll, but prompting it is lazy and boring.
and calling people trolls just because one doesn’t agree with what another person says in a forum is being a baby about it.
You wanna have a conversation about it. talk about it. otherwise go play minecraft while the adults have a discussion.
Prompting is not “having a conversation”. It is just lazy trolling. And boring!
Okay Kyle. here’s your monster energy drink. . don’t stay up past your bed time.
If you wanna grow up and act like an adult and we talk about issues that are upsetting the future of Overwatch possibly putting it in trouble by not going many more years. Probably not a discussion you can handle. But until then. feel free to respond.
If you wanna call people names and just derail the discussion, probably not a place you should be…
It’s not “so called”, it is a statement. You may not like the content of it, but it is very much a statement, and one which you cannot refute since you have no data, making your position yet another sad addition to the cacophany of simpletons with agendas who rely on innuendo and implication while demanding “data”.
Furthermore, what Kotick or Ibarra said to the Activision board has nothing to do with leaver penalties, or Aaron Keller. Nice try at a diversion…ain’t gonna work.
Sad really
20 games is far too many to count. Not everyone sits down and plays 40 matches nonstop for hours and hours.
You wouldn’t know what a college looks like outside of a brochure or website, much less the contents of a 101 course.
The creator of this game made a clear statement. By denying the accuracy, you must provide evidence which contradicts the veracity of the claim in order to establish that the statement is not true or accurate, otherwise, your claim has as much value as talking into a plastic shopping bag.
What you can’t legitimately do is demand proof that he is telling the truth. It is a safe assumption that without evidence to the contrary, along with a rational motive for making the specific false claim, that he is telling the truth.
You have, however, veered so far off of legitimate argumentation that your nonsense deserves its own ZIP code.
Eh, Blizzard has lied about plenty. They are not particularly trustworthy. That being said, I highly doubt that they would lie about this. But that’s all we have, speculation and their word. Their word means less than a plastic bag.
That’s a legitimate claim…kind of, but the problem is, it’s not in the context of this discussion. In other topics there’s plenty of instances of dishonesty, especially at the business end, but when it comes to play metrics, I’ve never seen an example, and cannot for the life of me find a reason why Keller would lie about how many leavers there are between 2 datapoints.
There is no rational motive for this, and even if he WERE not telling the truth, the only way for it to be established is through the citation of contrary data, not “But Kotick lied, so everyone lies”.
No, it’s not.
If you make a claim, the onus is on you to provide evidence supporting your claim. It is not up to someone else to show evidence that doesn’t prove your claim. That’s called ‘proving a negative’ and it’s a writing fallacy.
You don’t have it here. Just FYI.
That’s not how anything works. By that logic, I can call you a racist. And since there’s no proof that contradicts that you’re a racist, then that’s what you are. Freedom of speech, love it or leave it, right? No. See if I make an accusation, it’s up to me to show proof that you are what I’ve claimed you are. That’s how the burden of proof works.
You can easily play at least 6 in an hour. A lot more with stomps. It’s npt outlandish to play 10 matches in a single hour.
Sorry not going to argue with you. Keep having tantrums. When you are down to talk about it and can refute a claim like a mature adult. Let me know.
But you have no data to back up anything against what I’ve said. So whos really at fault here? If I don’t have anything to go off of for data, and you don’t. How do we prove who is wrong, or who is NOT wrong?
Even ThiccBuddha drives a good point here.
At what point do we draw a line in the sand and hold the company accountable. They make CLAIMS, with NO data. Anyone that just blindly accepts these claims is just shilling for the company. Im sorry.
Im expecting equal accountability from them. Yes, the truth is painful that we want to think Blizzard is this awesome above-all-company that does no wrong. But their track record shows otherwise.
Just look at the employee scandal they had where they lied about abusing employees. Yeah, sorry not going to cut them a break any longer for being on the public stage.
Im going to call it where I see it. They are doing under-handed stuff, and when you have a live service video game that you get to change, and prevent offline usage. Absolutely you are going to be subject to harsh scrutiny.
If it was also available offline and sold as “cold” single copies. I’d have nothing to stand on.
Are you nuts? No company provides data that is public facing. It’s not federally funded research on NSF/NIH grants, and even they don’t present their data in Journal articles or poster sessions (those are things they do in university research).
You are talking about a private video game company saying “there’s less prople leaving since the penalties started”, they are under no obligation to provide any “data” about the patently obvious because some guy is crusading by himself demanding it.
Okay, so you have made my point for me. Calm your jets there buddy. You need to chill tf out. Seriously, chill out. Its not the EOTW.
Okay, deep breaths. Stop calling people names. Its not something to get worked up over. Tantrum, put it in a box. calm tf down.
look, If you got no facts to go off of. How would this discussion work then?
The whole “it works because I say it works” argument gets destroyed instantly. I dont go running in and read a post by the game dev and go;
“Well it works because they say it works” and then retain that thought regardless of if i go play a game and see that clearly what they said is completely opposite of my experience and go Sheeping over it and say “Oh its working because they say it works”.
I think for myself. I observe something, i see it doesn’t work because it doesn’t look like it works and then I dont say to myself “Well it works because they say it works” and try to comfort myself that way.
Thats how a person gets sucked into CULTS and gets scammed.
Its no different than the scientific method. Test something, see if it works for yourself. take safety precautions and go on a fact finding mission. Science vs implied theory.
People are arguing here because in their experience, it is working.
In my experience it is working.
From our point of view you’re arguing that there’s a teakettle in orbit and you don’t need to prove it because it’s impossible to disprove.
I have less than 10 leavers in 5 matches put together when counting both teams on a bad day (Closer to max 3 leavers per 5 matches).
Before the penalties, having a minimum of 10 leavers in 5 matches (just mine or enemy team) meant i had hardly any leavers at all.
At worst before penalties, a single match could have 20 or more leavers if counting both teams.
There are less leavers now than there were before suspension penalties.
Im not going to discredit you on that notion.
In my experience (testing) yesterday I experienced nearly 1-3 leavers per match. Thats about 2 hours of games. So roughly 10 matches. With 3 matches being complete throw-aways where the door revolved the whole time.
Basically it boils down to emotional opinions on this. Do leavers bother me. No.
Do leavers bother others. Yes.
Its never going to be solved as to who is right, who is wrong. Just like to some, working on a pig farm that stinks isn’t going to be a big deal for some, while others its going to smell awful.
Its a difference of opinion, and thats basically what it all boils down to. Basically a conversation that is plagued with the never ending infinite argument paradox.

I +1’d your post because I believe your experiences are Factual, honest true and Sincere based upon your experiences.
So aside from the previous terrible arguments, you add “pretending the other person is emotional”, I mean it’s becoming a case study in how not to argue at this point.
If someone told me that there would be a veritable encyclopedia of bad faith attempts at making an argument in a single thread, I would have been in a state of disbelief.
You still haven’t actually provided any factual basis for rejecting the statement, no data to refute it, no rationale for why you believe it to be in error outside of a pathetic aversion to cults over a simple statement about demographic trends in a video game.
I look forward to your next misstep with great eagerness and anticipation.
