I use thanks when getting healed, rezzed, and at the end of every victory.
Yes I see others spam it, but I don’t see how it’s annoying.
Edit: but in your case I can see a need for a muting option, so I guess I wouldn’t mind it

People will spam thank you all game because we don’t have the exact comp they want… It ain’t me.

So u don’t want me to thank the healer that healed me, thank the tank that shielded me, thank the DPS that assisted me, thank the defense hero that had my back?

Muting voicelines should be an option, but there is nothing wrong with the “Thanks!” button. I actually use it to genuinely say thanks… I actually moved my bind to make that button more available than “I need healing!”

I feel like such a jerk when I say thanks to a mercy while shes rezzing me, and then she dies in the process and I look like I’m saying it sarcastically.

It shouldn’t be removed. There is a legit good reason to keep it in. Removing it won’t stop them from abusing some other voice line.
But your other suggestion to request that muting teammates also mutes all their voice lines is valid. I’ve had games on PC where someone will spam some the non-English voicelines all game to the point where it’s irritating.

What does THANK YOU mean? This is honestly one of the least toxic phrases I can think of, second to maybe You’re Welcome. Think about what you’re implying here for a second, and go check the dictionary for the definition please.

I do not want to lose the ability to thank other players for helping me, be it through controlling/killing an enemy that’s harassing me or healing me.
Clearly none of you play console.

I wouldn’t say remove it as it is a way of thanking healers for healing you and thanking teammates for helping/saving you
I just wish we had more voice commands like Smite/Paladins added in the past.
Ranging anywhere from “Attack!” to “Retreat!” there’s many ways to communicate. Never once had to use a mic in either game.
So instead of removing “Thanks” is there a way to perhaps mute all that? Have never tried it myself but if there’s a way, do it.
PS4 player here and am I to understand you are upset over virtual voices sarcastically saying “thank you”?
I’m all for stopping toxicity, but come on now. You could be experiencing MUCH worse forms of toxic behavior
Is it REALLY over 90% of games that’s being used? I see that happen maybe once or twice a week.
i say thank you whenever i get healed or a teammate kills a flanker thats attacking me and saves my life and also when i get rezzed because im genuinely thankful for the help. ive literally never seen thanks get spammed like you claim

I usually say thanks when I receive healing, because I’m a tank. If you think I’m SPAMMING it, then you should see what happens WHEN I DON’T GET ANY HEALING AS A MAIN TANK WITH THE HEALER NEARBY.
I use I need healing 3 times after I’m dead, and then if the healer doesn’t heal me again and I die, I do it again.
3 times of this and I switch to a healer, then I do their job.

I hope you know spamming emotes is a reportable offense.
I am not dismissing your experience, and I don’t play console, but I think maybe you’re being too sensitive.
I have maybe 1 person in 5 games that will spam “thanks” and “acknowledged” emotes. Of course we have a different experience, but I choose to ignore all spammers so maybe its more.
