Remove Scoreboard

So with the new W/L format for Competitive, there really isn’t a need to have the Scoreboard. Leveling up or down is based on Wins or Losses. Stats play no role in it. If anything, the Scoreboard adds more toxic/negative behavior in chats

Bring back self stats like in Overwatch 1 where you can see your own stats but not others.

Nah, I like being able to just say “scoreboard” when someone hits me with some lip. Focus up and stop pressing tab, I aint your problem, you are.

I just realized that the scoreboard goes against the very reason they introduced private profiles.

I never understood why a stat board was needed. It doesn’t make anyone take accountability for anything. Also, I find it upsetting being able to see how many times my teammates have died. I don’t want to know that, it’s demoralizing when deaths are in the double digits and makes it hard to believe a game is winnable.

Agreed. The Scoreboard was introduced to grab all the CoD players to the new and Improved Overwatch 2 (cough BS lol). CoD uses Scoreboards on every mode, and you are right, it adds to the negativity of the game. Stats shouldn’t be focused, WINNING is!!! It doesn’t matter on how you get there as long as you do.

Perfect example of why it should be gone. Last night Spectated a game where other team had a Mauga that barely was doing much damage. One of their Supports left the game, new Support comes in and immediately looks at the Scoreboard and says, “Mauga 4K damage? Trash” Game ends and Mauga players responds back with “KYS”, “Get Cancer”.

Enough said!!! It’s not needed!!!

Nah I enjoy seeing which bot player on my team has 15 deaths per 10.

Its important to know who is not doing what they are supposed to be doing on your team. If you have a player doing absolutely nothing and is just throwing the match the scoreboard proves it. Therefore it is easier to report or ask the player to switch to something else. Only people I see asking for the scoreboard to be removed are the ones who are most of the time the weakest link on their team.

And the reason they removed rank badges. Although probably the real reason for both is so they can throw a few higher or lower ranked players into your match when the queue gets too long without it being obvious.

Well only “leeches” keep asking to remove stats from scoreboard. Why? They can not accept a fact how badly they playing and ruining game for a whole team.

The scoreboard was added to reduce toxicity, and it has done that. The game was more toxic when there was no scoreboard.

Leeches? What exactly are they leeching off of?

I could see that. I miss being able to tell immediately when someone is smurfing by checking their profile.

I rather make the scoreboard better, like reset after rounds, more meaningful stats so I can leverage every tool I can to try to win.

But I do admit most losses I get now are poking dive tanks.

Trust me the game was even more toxic in OW1 when there was no scoreboard, especially in metal ranks. You would be flamed all the time as Brig / Lucio to swap to a “real healer” when the problem was your Ana doing no damage or heals in the backline.

If anything they should improve the scoreboard with damage and heals received and show Brig inspire duration in the hud.

I think OW2 is less toxic, purely because there is less communication. I don’t think anything the game has done has reduced it.

First off, your wrong, second your remark shows very low maturity which is typically the audience that loves to Dout on themselves on how well they are playing and how horrible others are. Hence, the players who “looooovvvvvveeeee” the Scoreboard.

No, it gives me a reason to block ignorant illiterate players. They always fall short whenever they condemn other players instead of being sympathetic and showing hopefulness. However, I think it would be nice if they’d took away the damage status. Not everybody is sincere and they care more about selling people out

i will not respond with your attitude to this post.

I like scoreboard mostly because for myself. I know how i did, what i did, it shows my playergame experience. Where i am good, where i was not.,

But also, shows other people game experience. If they are underperforming, they should know that.

If this information is “sensitive” for you, stop pushing “tab” and checking scoreboard.

You do realize you can see your own stats with a simple push of a button? Same screen that shows you your scoreboard, also gives you your individual play stats for the whole game. So again, you don’t need a scoreboard for all to see.

Trust me, players know when they are under performing in shooter games without having to have a visual reminder throughout the game.

This game is not CoD and shouldn’t be changed to that model. OW1 had no Scoreboard, and the game was perfectly beautiful.

Gtfo. OW1 had the medal system and the games were extremely toxic as a result.

They had the medal system which only you could see. If you chose to call teammates out for being Silver in kills or Bronze in healing, “you” are adding to the toxic problem that has snowballed to OW2 today.

In today’s format, even more now that updated to a Win/Loss model, stats don’t mean squat if you win the game. It’s a team-based game and the only thing a scoreboard cause is more toxic experiences.
