Does anyone else agree that quick play shouldn’t have roll select, I enjoyed being able to play any character I wanted and fill any roll that was needed. I understand the necessity for it in ranked play, but those of us who liked the craziness of quick play have now lost that. The game is honestly a lot less fun for me now and I have a difficult time playing for long periods of time.
- click arcade
- click QuickPlay Classic
Done.
Role select drastically improved my QP experience tyvm
So no
I did too, but I’m worried that QP would just become what QP classic currently is without role select. Besides, my time as a flex player has made me really good at understanding the needs of my teammates and enabling them, so that’s nice.
If you want to swap a lot, just play more dps. Lots of them have meh ults anyway so swapping is easier, and you can finally pick dps without essentially guaranteeing a 3-4 dps comp.
no. long q? pre 222 people who wanted a decent game had to wait a heck of a long time to get one because of selfish players who should be in the arcade.
came here to say this
with apologies, qp classic isnt equivalent to pre-222 qp
It solves the OP’s problem though
I dont wish to speak for the OP, but I dont think it truly does
Go “have fun” in arcade
Nah. I didn’t want role queue to be here, but if Blizzard so desperate to have it… All I want now is an actual effort to balance the game for role queue. Because it is clearly not balanced for 2-2-2 at all. A lot of heroes are completely out of meta. OWL is as boring, predictable and repetitive as ever.
I mean, now, with limited number of hero combinations, could they finally balance it?!

with apologies, qp classic isnt equivalent to pre-222 qp
Obviously, because the team players are having actual fun in 222. Unlike in pre-222.
There was something really wrong with classic QP, so it makes sense that given the choice, most aren’t willing to keep putting up with it.
I’m glad it’s gone. And I’m never playing Classic QP ever again.
For all intents and purposes, it is.
There are 3 technical differences which are all minor points and not really enough to make it fundamentally different.
- Location (Arcade vs not arcade)
- Achievements (which Jeff indicated may be coming).
- You can now earn lootboxes for wins (this is a bonus).
You could argue that it may not be permanent, but we don’t know that. So, until it is shown that it isn’t, let’s not debate that point.
So, the only real difference is that some people choose not to play it because they didn’t like it. So, you are only left with the people who liked the old QP which is a smaller group. But this isn’t an actual difference in the game mode, just a difference in the player population of the game mode. And it only exists because some people hated the old game mode.
So, really, yes, they are basically equivalent in every way that matters.
With equal apologies, pre-222 QP or “freedom-QP” is not coming back, thanks god!!! .
So, move on, take QuickPlay Classic, maybe is not exactly equivalent to pre-222 QP, but it is the best that you (people against 2-2-2 QP) will have .
I would prefer keeping it in quickplay and removing it from competitive.
The terrible thing pre-role queue qp is that many games would be lost before they started just from being on the team with the worse comp.
While there are still steamrolls here and there, Im finding most games have closer fights and am having a much more enjoyable experience overall.

I’m never playing Classic QP ever again.
It’s all I play. Wait times today were under a minute, and every game had at least 1-2 each of tanks and healers. That’s typical for me.
Screw that. 2-2-2 is vastly superior. Play QP Classic.
